Have been having a look at some of the accounts I'm blocked from. Quite a revelation. They are going somewhat ape about Transgerdertrend's advice for schools.

Just to mention - I have been blocked because I am on that TERF blocker list.

I haven't communicated with ANY of these individuals to justify their blocking me. Except, you know, be put on this list by persons unknown

Ha I’m blocked too. I’m hardly even active on Twitter because I don’t like it. Anyway I imagine they’re all frothing as the Transgender Trend advice is so calm and measured and so damn reasonable

Hard to argue with. Because facts. And Science. Proper Actual Fucking Science. Not feelz.

MRAs and TRAs spam women and the people they call truescum with violent porn and dick picks quite often. In this case they appear to be trying to blame Yardley for the porn shots someone sent.
We see that a lot on Facebook where women are shut down for sharing the abuse they receive from MRAs and TRAs.

Oh God - don't search for that conversation between Miranda and Magdalene - just like her, I don't want to see that.

Miranda shared a DM she'd got, where the avatar was a photo of man with boobs and penis out.

I don't know if that's why they're accusing Miranda of revenge porn though - since I don't see how it is, if someone's using naked pictures in their avatar, surely they've shared it themselves.

For anyone who wants to push back against TRAs it's absolutely vital to understand how embedded into the structure of how the internet is run they are. The two areas in which trans women are most overrepresented are tech and the military (former military in many cases, though that seems to be changing). Most tech companies have some TRA employees, and they're particularly well embedded in the major social media companies (Facebook, Twitter, etc). Once you realize that a lot of the "wait why was this person's account banned?" and "wait, how come making death and rape threats to women is OK but breastfeeding photos and feminist groups get shut down?" stuff makes sense.

In a lot of ways I think this is why mumsnet has become so important in terms of allowing discussion of these issues, because when it was getting going TRAs didn't think it was important and probably found it boring so it wasn't infiltrated in the same way.
