So gutted I missed out on tickets! Hope all goes well. A group called Sisterhood Uncut will be picketing apparently, because ‘trans women have been at the forefront of feminism’ for years Hmm

Is it this group?

If so back in 2015 they seemed to be all about domestic violence. Another TRA takeover since then perhaps?

It's a regional branch: Sisters Uncut Bristol, 'trans women have always been at the forefront of feminist activism' activists.

I hope it goes well and the protesters are kept away/in line by the police. I wish I was going to be there. Solidarity in spirit.

I so wish I was going, tickets sold out before I could buy them
Is it worth going to stand outside in support or is that just asking for it as they say

Seems there’s a few of us around! I’d love to meet other local gender critical feminists, not sure how we could organise this without risk though Sad
Just the fact I have to type the above is ridiculous, it’s like McCarthyism isn’t it?

Hope it all goes well. I was too late for a ticket, but will be there in spirit.

Ah. This will be the same transwomen who actually started the Stonewall riots, then? Hmm

KnitFastDieWarm Superb name Grin

I would love to meet people when there is a meeting near to me. It not an unreasonable aspiration to be able to meet like minded people for entirely legal purposes. Yet it is ridiculously difficult.

I’m sorry I missed meeting you @therealpisieparker and @distaffside

I was dashing from Work (an hour away) and bumped into a colleague also coming to the meeting (we exchanged cryptic “Are you here for a certain feminist meeting?” At Bristol Temple Meads. Had to dash just after 9:30 to get my train home.

But it was a great meeting wasn’t it? It took me back to the late 70s/80s when I was optimistic about change for the better.

I was struck by how lucid, logical and reasonable all the speakers were. And their talks were evidence-based and grounded in the material realities of women’s lived experiences in our sexed bodies.

I particularly liked (and was heartened by) the Welsh politician who reassured us that most people think the TRAs’ demands are, as she put it, “bonkers.”
