Wasnt India on tv only yesterday, suggesting that a womens refuge shouldnt be exclusively for Natal Women, yet here she is advocating and tweeting about a Trans exclusive Safe house? (Which as it happens I fully support)

What the hell? Am I missing something?

Well this is only sensible. Womens refuges for wimen and trans spaces for trans.

But the trans refuges also need to cater for the different needs of transmen and transwomen.

I may be wrong, but the link looks it is catering for transwomen only.

The hypocrisy is beyond staggering!

Sorry for typo - women. My auto correct is off doing it's own thing.

Of course ignoring the massive hypocrisy- I think it's a good thing.

My issue is by no means the concept, as I fully support and encourage safe spaces for Trans gender individuals, but then surely that applies in reverse? That vulnerable Women should be fully entitled to keep safe spaces for themselves too? India needs to decide what side of the fence she is on IMO, she is sending a very contradictory and confusing message here.

India seems to want it all.

I looked up the specialist clinics at the local sexual health centre earlier, and there’s:

  • W (for self-identified women)
  • T (for trans / queer / gender-questioning)
  • M (for men who have sex with men)

So no special clinic for heterosexual or transmen. If everyone’s special, surely no-one should be?

That said I’m pretty sure I could rock up at any of those, declare my right to be there and get treated.

People like India don’t deal in facts, they deal in perceived rights and self-identification. Her complete hypocrisy on the matter doesn’t surprise me at all. She believes she’s both trans and a woman and has the right to be both and access spaces for both.

I am on the same page on you - incredulous wtf'ing.

But thinking it's a good thing - it exposes the double think very publicly and acknowledges that women and transwomen have different needs and requirements of support.

I also think it's great to have trans exclusive resources. As someone who has fund raised and literally painted walls to set up a rape crisis centre for women, I applaud any group establishing their own resources.

Re the inconsistency - the whole trans ideology is shot through with inconsistencies from the very principle - to transition into a woman .... which therefore means that of course you are not a 'real' woman - you have transitioned!!
That's why they are so desperate for #nodebate as the whole charade collapses once you actually hear what is being said. IW and many other MiT will never understand many things that women share cos they're transitioned as opposed to biological women.

I dont have a private twitter, only a business one, so dont dare call her out on the hypocrisy publicly, however I do wonder if there are any brave and eloquent twitter users here willing to expose this nonsense in her argument? If not already blocked by India of course!

I think it's a great idea.

Now let's watch and see if they allow a bloke with a history of violence against trans people to move in if he says he's trans Hmm

Or is it only us hysterical women who have to share our spaces with any man who says they're a woman, even if he has a history of violence against women?

- W (for self-identified women)
- T (for trans / queer / gender-questioning)
- M (for men who have sex with men)

And in fact catscan, if you read carefully, you’ll see there isn’t any special clinic for women either. They have to share theirs with anyone who feels like they’re a woman that day.
