I am on the Hit List

Carrying on from

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3144285-Labour-Against-Transphobia-Facebook-group

From that group arose a Hate List on Google Docs of women and a few men, including one disabled man who is a Disability Officer. All of them have clearly been kept under trans-surveillance.

They were witch-hunting for anyone posting or clicking "like" anything that they label as "transphobic". For example saying that a man in a dress isn't a biological woman.

The Hit List was posted yesterday and to my utter amazement I see my name is on it.

Along the top it states that this is a list of "transphobes". So there is a nasty, name-calling label, with no definition given. In other words, anyone they call a "transphobe" IS a "transphobe". #nodebate

I am not a transphobe, so surely putting my name there amounts to libel?

It also states that ONLY Labour Party members can be placed on the list and ONLY people for whom there is a dossier attached providing evidence of any Thought Crime, (such as wanting all women short lists to be restricted to women.)

I am not and have never been a member of the Labour Party, plus there was no dossier on me.

It was Adrie van der Meer who added me to the Hate List. I've never met him or had anything to do with him in my whole life.

I've screenshotted all of it.

Someone infiltrated their list and took it all down, but they have posted in the Facebook group that they have the raw data and are working on posting the list publicly again.

In his group LM uses the term "beat terfs" (screenshotted) and then his bosom buddy posts a list of "terfs" to beat?

What should I do, if anything?

I'd send screenshots to anyone and everyone I could think of, including Corbyn.

Demand apologies from Party and the twonk that added you!

But A N Other may come along with a far better idea.

I hope so, as the whole idea of a such a list existing in the first place is gobsmacking. The potential for ill is enormous!

I wouldn't give them the time of day. Attention seeking comes to mind and too much time spent on the internet.

You are worth much more than them.

Ignore, but if it impacts on your work then contact a solicitor. I doubt any work place would take this seriously.

It's done to frighten and intimidate. They are fools.

This is appalling, obviously. Maybe get in touch with the Information Commissioner?

Can you post a screenshot of LM using the term "beat terfs"?

As they're doing this to multiple people, might the police be interested in harrassment?

Jennifer James is putting all the evidence to the lawyers so get in touch with her.

Same thing happened to Lisa Muggeridge. As said, do speak to Jennifer James. She will help.

I would contact the Information Commissioner's Office.

It is a breach of the Data Protection Act for Labour Party officials to be holding your personal information and using it in that way without your permission.

I believe others on that list have done the same.

Were you on the list of women they wish to beat? How terrifying.

Battleax · 22/01/2018 16:26

Police is a good start.

Then you have a choice of complaining via the party or private civil action, or both.

Jennifer James via Twitter. It would be useful for all those named to be work together.

Was "beat terfs" used in such a context that they could argue that they meant "prevail over terfs"?

Yes. I can't see any other reading of it (although the subtext can be read as you wish).

"We will beat the TERFs" (LM).

I don't see LM as being a physically violent chap.

Nevertheless, dossiers and hitlists are creepy and highly irresponsible.

Thank you ladies (any gents?) for the replies.
Have emailed Jennifer.

PilarTernera You say it is a "breach of the Data Protection Act for Labour Party officials to be holding your personal information and using it in that way without your permission". The only "information is just my name and my town and a link to my Facebook. Is that enough to qualify as "personal information"?

MaidofStars and Battleax LM is always very careful to word things in an ambiguous manner so that he can hide behind the 2nd meaning if challenged. Remember when he used a subtle threat by citing "that pretty contact data"?

What does "beat the terfs" mean in a non-violent context anyway? How does he intend to "beat" as in "win against" them?

hackmum I am attaching a screen shot I hope it is big enough for you to see it.

MiMi78 Just as I was going to bed at 10pm last night (I am an old lady) I received a message on Facebook with a link to the list.

There were then 28 on the list, 25 women and 3 men.

I screen shotted it.

I can’t find the group on fb, is it invite only? Was curious as to whether or not my name was on it. I use a different name on fb than my real name now, partly because of shit like this.

Any chance of posting the list of names Superlandlady ? I don’t use my full name on twitter but used it to donate to the legal fund. I would like to know if I’m on it so I can make a complaint. I will understand if you would rather not.

Battleax · 22/01/2018 17:12

Oh, I'm not disputing that it's sinister. I'm just thinking aloud about whether it will be treated as an overt threat.

I've seen a few people over on Facebook that have found their names on the "hit list"
