Hoping to be there. And maybe by then I can speak publicly about being fixed at work.

But maybe not ... I need my job.

SmartiesHaveTheAnswer Sat 20-Jan-18 14:52:07

I missed this. Glad you've bumped it back up. There's a chance I can actually attend.

What do you mean by "being fixed at work"? I work in a school so I have so keep my mouth shut about various issues most of the time.

LardyMardy Sat 20-Jan-18 15:10:27

Doxxed. Darn autocorrect!

I was subject to a complaint to my employers about my gender-critical Twitterings in an account under my RL name.

AdultHumanFemale Sat 20-Jan-18 18:34:36

Yep, this is a concern for me too, as work in education in a very right on local authority. I so wish it wasn't. I am going to talk myself around, though.

DistaffSide Sat 20-Jan-18 19:18:41

I'm going, I invited work colleagues but no response yet.

SmartiesHaveTheAnswer Sat 20-Jan-18 20:03:12

I know this sounds incredibly dense but since I think I can get from South Wales to this, when will we know where it is?

I work in Swansea and I could probably get to Bristol outskirts by 6.

LardyMardy Sat 20-Jan-18 21:24:30

I know, it is a concern - I live a bit over an hour away. I’d need to work out how to get home by public transport as well.

SmartiesHaveTheAnswer Sun 21-Jan-18 15:57:07

Is it a case of getting the ticket then being emailed afterwards with the details of the location?

I'm paranoid even asking just in case people doubt me!

jeaux90 Sun 21-Jan-18 19:24:49

I'm going to Bristol too. I think the location gets released a few hours before.

QOFE Sun 21-Jan-18 19:26:02

I'm also South Wales... Maybe we should organise a minibus (only half joking, it'd make sense what with the bridge toll etc)

PlonitbatPlonit Fri 26-Jan-18 08:41:21

Just bumping this - I think tickets are going fast! www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-womans-place-is-speaking-out-tickets-41851431759

Bugger. I've been meaning to buy a ticket for this, and kept not getting round to it. Now it's sold out. Hope it is a good evening.

QOFE Wed 07-Feb-18 14:24:03

I had to wait and see if DP was in (child with SN so one of us needs to be in charge at all times!) and then it'd sold out by the time I knew for certain. Gutted sad

If it weren't for the childcare issue we would both have gone!

BiologyNotBigotry Wed 07-Feb-18 14:36:40

I had no idea this was happening or I'd have booked tickets & dragged along a friend who's recently got interested in feminism but is at the "can't we all just be nice to each other" stage. I really need her to peak soon.

PlonitbatPlonit Wed 07-Feb-18 15:09:27

I'm sure there will be other meetings! Why not tweet @Womans_Place_UK and tell them where you'd like them to do a meeting next.

MountainsofMars Wed 07-Feb-18 17:32:00

I'm going - I got a ticket early. Maybe see some more of you there Is there a secret handshake?

CisMyArse Thu 08-Feb-18 20:07:11

I couldn't attend - how was it?

NotTerfNorCis Thu 08-Feb-18 21:17:07

I wasn't there personally, but if you search Twitter for #wpuk it sounds like it went brilliantly.

QueenOfQuacks Thu 08-Feb-18 21:31:33

Still gutted I couldn't make it sad

CisMyArse Mon 12-Feb-18 21:30:49

Aaahhh I'm shit on Twitter. Will someone please twitter them and ask them for a Cardiff or even Swansea meet?!

CisMyArse Mon 12-Feb-18 21:31:42
