Australian Midwives Fighting Back

Midwives in Australia are fighting back against pregnant women being called pregnant persons. Good on those midwives!

"Professor Alison Kitson, vice president and executive dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University, agreed.

“Retaining the ‘woman-centred’ term is important to remind us all that our care is focused on the women and the significant life-changing experience they are about to have,” she said."

I am enjoying seeing more and more of a fight back. Especially from professional bodies.

Good on them. Women are pushing back. Peak transing at last. Midwifery is women centred care and long may it remain.

Quite right too! Midwife means "with woman".

Midwives are the vanguard. I find this so cheering.

Go Australia! That may be because the trans craziness isn't very prominent here yet: everything takes a while to get to Australia including social trends. I'm bracing myself for it unleashing here too soon.
