That's an amazing interview. You'd never know that there was a victim involved in Polanski's crime at all, never mind a child who had been drugged and anally raped by him.

sarahjconnor Tue 17-Oct-17 15:45:51

Genuinely disgusting

I can't believe the Independent published it - shame on them.

bellabelly Tue 17-Oct-17 15:52:36

"so called crime" - bloody hell! This is called hiding in plain sight, isn't it? Probably got a kick out of being so open about his views. Unbelievable arrogance!

QOFE Tue 17-Oct-17 16:24:03

Good grief.

Mind you I was less than impressed with anyone defending Polanski at the time. Like, who gives a shit how great his films are? He's a child sex offenders FFS. But so so many people I know (including those who would normally be baying for blood at the news such crimes) were shrugging and saying it was in the past and who knew what really happened angry

Lonelystarbuckslover Tue 17-Oct-17 21:45:50

poof it's gone. There's a 404 on that link now. I wonder why...

hipsterfun Tue 17-Oct-17 22:04:04

The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. The Independent was at war with misogyny. The Independent had always been at war with misogyny.

Datun Tue 17-Oct-17 22:11:26

You’ve got it.

PricklyBall Tue 17-Oct-17 22:15:55

Anyone tech savvy out there who could find it on one of the internet archive sites? Be useful to have a link for posterity.

PricklyBall Tue 17-Oct-17 22:21:01

Yay, always good to preserve things for posterity.

Here it is:

Thanks prickly

beeny Wed 18-Oct-17 06:55:24

Thanks, just read it and am speechless.

sarahjconnor Wed 18-Oct-17 06:56:49

I am disappointed they published it but feel even more disappointed that they took it down when it started getting hits.

sarahjconnor Wed 18-Oct-17 06:57:32

Hipster grin

beeny Wed 18-Oct-17 06:58:07

Not surprised at their behaviour.

Ereshkigal Wed 18-Oct-17 07:16:52

Whatever you think about the so-called crime

Clearly you don't think very much about it, eh Harv?

Ereshkigal Wed 18-Oct-17 07:17:44

Well done prickly.

SuburbanRhonda Wed 18-Oct-17 07:22:24

You're a star!

PricklyBall Wed 18-Oct-17 19:32:34

Whoa... that's weird. My link isn't working any more, nor is the Wayback page succeeding in searching for the history of the original page. I wonder if the Independent has managed to force them to take it down on copyright grounds?

Seems they are very, very serious about taking this down. Wonder why? Protecting their own reputation? Legal reasons? (Could Wankstain's lawyers have leaned on them in some way, arguing that because he's subject to criminal proceedings the article could in some way prejudice any future trial?)

Very, very strange.

thenightsky Wed 18-Oct-17 19:36:12

Its working for me.

PricklyBall Wed 18-Oct-17 19:37:31

The actual link to the wayback machine or the link to the article itself?

I will be glad if it's just a glitch on my computer...

SuburbanRhonda Wed 18-Oct-17 19:38:09

It's still working for me.

Marmighty Wed 18-Oct-17 19:42:11

Just read it fine in the wayback link.

I hope the US government acts swiftly because because film makers are looking for justice to be properly served. - HW

Jesus fucking Christ. If only they get the justice they deserve.

hipsterfun Wed 18-Oct-17 19:43:44

I made a PDF of it.
