A Facebook group for local parents I'm on. There's a single Dad on the group with 3 daughters and he has just posted a pic of himself in M&S where he is shopping for a bra with one of them and asking for advice. Cue a million posts telling him what an amazing Daddy he is etc etc

I know for a fact there are many, many single mothers on this group and not one of them has ever felt the need to do a post like that one. Nor been called amazing for doing so.

And the amazing dad responses are insulting to both men and women. Women because they would get thoroughly rounded on for doing the same thing, men because it expects such low standards

I've done the same with my daughter. I just asked the assistant. I had to buy her sanitary products. I haven't got a clue what she needs so I asked the woman in pharmacy.

By putting something like that on Facebook he knows what reaction he will get and is playing to the crowd for his ego.

It's misguided sure but I can see the reasoning, I'm sure many of the parents are women with more knowledge and basic tips than a shop assistant potentially saying wrong things for a more expensive sale

I'm a single father and my daughter would hit me a kick to the bollocks if I even tried to talk about bras with her let alone post a pic on FB shopping for bras for/with her.

She would stab me in my sleep if I done that.
