I can't roll my eyes hard enough at the god awful journalism/quotation. Who gives a shit that she's never had a boyfriend or got pissed? Was that in there just to embarrass her?

But I was happy to read about this incredible woman. Built her own plane at 14. Flew it at 16. Graduated from MIT in 3 years with a perfect grade score. Published 8 times, been cited over 100 times - those are incredible achievements. Oh and she's a girl. Smile

She's no longer a girl - she's 23 now

Yeah I know, if you read the article tattered an awful quote from someone saying "we were so surprised not only because she's so young but also a girl"

I don't see the problem with mentioning a lack of boyfriend or drink - that's what most other girls would have experienced. It was given as a contrast to what they told her she was doing instead.

Anyway, what's even more encouraging about that article is the part of the number of physics graduates going up, and being attributed to more girls enrolling as physics majors.

Although that's incredible isn't it, just 8'000 people major in physics. In the entire country.
