We just need to not get drunk apparently, as genuine rapists will prey on us if we're hammered. Well, that's a relief. I thought there might be a bit more to it than that, but it seems not.

What a vile man he really is. Why does anyone give him the space to spout his odious views? (I know that it's because his vile story is click bait, but urgh).

I'm too angry for proper thoughts, I'll come back

So glad we've got that sorted out. Thanks Ched! He's such a clueless twat. Absolutely zero insight into how women think and what the world is like for us.

No doubt his fan club will be along shortly to explain why he's right, though.

I was literally just about to post this. He is the last person who should be advising women on how to conduct themselvesAngry

"I also think that women need to be made aware of the dangers they can put themselves in because there are genuine rapists out there who prey on girls who have been drinking."

As opposed to those pretend rapists who happen to fall into the vaginas of drunk comatose women?^
^
"I feel like we were both victims."

Hmm

The irony. I would laugh if it wasn't so fucking tragic.

Has it not occurred to him and his followers that all of his troubles could have been avoided if he had treated the woman that night as a full human being, rather than a convenient set of orifices to penetrate? If he had looked after her and taken her home, made sure she was ok, rather than prioritise his need for an orgasm? That's what men need to be taught. Look after vulnerable people that you meet, rather than look to how you can use them for your own sexual satisfaction.

"A lot of work needs to be done in relation to consent because I definitely think that the police have an agenda to find ways to charge people and the easiest one is the drunk one."
"I also think that women need to be made aware of the dangers they can put themselves in because there are genuine rapists out there who prey on girls who have been drinking."

So, according to Ched, work needs to be done on consent not because many men simply don't care if they've got consent, not even because some men assume consent where there isn't any, but because the police will use lack of consent to stitch poor men up. Well, I'm glad it's been cleared up that it isn't the rapists' fault, but the police's and the "girls'".

Either he is in a state of unprecedented denial or genuinely has zero insight. Either way he is knob of the first order.

I just came here to post that. I don't even know where to begin.

He isn't very clever is he. The point is a drunk woman cannot really consent so the police aren't trying to stitch anyone up. We easily acknowledge that drink inhibits rational thought in other ways, so it isn't hard to understand is it?

The number of people who don't understand consent astounds me and this person has just reinforced (or justified) their misunderstanding. I'm not sure this is going to change either as a lot of men would have to come to the realisation that they have raped in the past.

it does raise the interesting question that as he's apparently so unclear on what consent actually is, how does he know he isn't a rapist?

victim blaming of the most depressing order. He has the thickest skin imaginable.

I'm pretty sure that raping someone makes you a genuine rapist, there isnt an entrance exam or official certificate or anything. Hmm

women drinking does make them more vulnerable, it shouldn't, but it does.

I firmly believe the responsibility is for men not to rape, but i was a teenager off my arse drunk on a night out and I accept some responsibility for what happened to me. If i hadn't put myself in a vulnerable position i wouldn't have been attacked

I would love an interview with this creep, aired live on TV where he faces a panel of women like the ones on this thread where we asked him all the questions we are posting here and where he had no chance for his advisor to prep a response.
