Agreed. And since another "feminist" site is being discussed now--Feminist Current is everything that Everyday Feminism is failing to be.

I agree. I'm on a feminist parents group on FB though and this article got completely slammed for its TERFiness. Feminist Current was described as a misogynist site. Depressing stuff.

Yeps, that's a five star review as far as I'm concerned!

Hi, I got a message from a Facebook friend this morning saying she'd been directed to my article from here. Am the author.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the kind words, and also voice my frustration at Feminist Current being labeled a misogynist site!? When the most radical feminism is being denounced as misogynist we are truly living in the midst of an Orwellian nightmare.

As for my article being slammed for its TERFiness, I have been called TERF enough times that it sails over my head now. I know that I don't advocate for hurting or discriminating against anybody, and I believe women will win the ideological argument that spaces segregated on the basis of biological sex are still necessary. We're getting louder. We just need to keep going.

Flowers Thank you for writing it. My words aren't nearly as good as yours but everything I think is beautifully summed up in that article.

TERF isn't considered an insult around here, NoDecorum! Grin

Great to have you on MN, NoDecorum.

Is anyone going to post a question on the Nick Clegg webchat?

Thank you for writing so eloquently and calmly on topics I struggle to articulate eloquently and calmly!

Good article, nodecorum.

This resonates with me: "For my mother and her friends, feminism was not an identity, a label, or an abstract concept — it was work, a verb, a doing word. It was an active attempt to improve the lives of women and girls; to liberate them from the male oppression that kept them second class citizens and prevented them from realizing their full potential"

I think this is the fundamental problem with feminism at the moment. Its a badge anyone can wear, while doing nothing to improve the lives of women and girls.

Yes I agree BigDeskBob

Feminism isn't an identity. It's a political movement with clear aims and goals. I think many have lost sight of that.

Fantastic article and it actually made me feel quite positive in a determined sort of way. It's very easy (for me) to get into a negative spiral when I look at the state of the some of the 'progressives' out there.
