My Facebook feed today has a link to a photo of an empty Rotherham town centre, with a post about 'why didn't feminists march to protest then Muslim sex offenders?'. The post beneath are venomous about how all the evils of the world are caused by feminists because they marched in 2017 against Trump's anti-abortion/civil rights violations and not about insert any other cause they can think of.
The posters beneath the photo really and actively blame feminists for every other ill in the world they can think of (feminists, lefty 'libtards' and sometimes 'muslims') because they marched for women's rights. The chap who posted this has two daughters and is an educated and (I thought) nice man!
Now I don't agree with every feminist thought ever uttered - the movement is hugely diverse and obviously encompasses many extremes of thought, but how can anyone not think that
1: equal rights for women in general terms is a good and desirable thing
2: we each have the right to campaign for/protest against the things we personally care about but
3: no-one 'has' to campaign for someone else's cause, and failing to do so doesn't make their own cause invalid
