Conviction a month later

www.thesun.co.uk/news/2239469/transgender-paedo-jailed-for-raping-boys-and-girls-is-caught-trying-to-develop-indecent-images-of-one-of-her-victims-after-being-released/

It's strange that the first newspaper somehow missed multiple rapes of young children - they had the paedophile's real name.

(assuming it is, it's hard to tell whether this is 'trans-friendly' language "The 50-year-old carried out the attacks on young boys and girls while she was living as a man called Ross Florida."

or if it implies that he was called something different previously. I suspect it is just trans language, but it's not helpful when documenting a dangerous paedophile. He was not merely 'living as a man called Ross' - he was in fact a man called Ross.

Implying that he has previous names besides Ross Florida, or that he was not in fact a man when raping multiple children is deeply unhelpful.

Why do we need to use this nonsense language to cater to the whims of child rapists? Why do child rapists get fawning profiles in the paper just because they've dressed up as a drag queen?

Hmm. Reading the second article he hadn't started hormone therapy and presumably still has a cock. I would imagine that this has been an attempt (not sure if successful) to be sent to a women's prison.

According to this article:

www.somersetlive.co.uk/transgender-woman-from-wells-tried-to-get-photos-developed-of-naked-child/story-29924337-detail/story.html

he committed the offences on 8th November, and

"changed her name to her current one in 2012 while in prison and had been living her life as a woman ever since."

except

"at the moment she is living her life as a woman 10% of the time."

Does this go down as a female paedophile in the statistics?

Presenting as a woman may make it easier to groom children when outside prison, and also protects him in prison from hatred by other prisoners. As a woman serving a sentence in a woman's prison Nicola probably (and rightly) thinks she'll get an easier run of it.

Another day, yet another story like this.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 11/01/2017 18:19

And yet we're always told that no transwoman has ever attacked women or children, Notwhat. I have no way to analyze this, because I don't think anyone has been able to provide solid facts on what percentage of the population is MTT, but if it's only 1% or less, which I've seen reported, I can't help getting the impression that transwomen are responsible for a higher percentage of sex and violent crime than men in general. Last year there were numerous news stories about sex and violent crimes committed by transwomen, far more so than there should be according to how many there are of them.

Report
Bambambini · 11/01/2017 19:12

Maybe and would be interesting to know but then the media are trans crazy and will highlight any story with a trans connection. Look how they focus on false rape allegations.

Report
Prawnofthepatriarchy · 11/01/2017 19:27

It's interesting that you see it like that, Bambam. My take is different in that ime recent coverage of crimes committed by transwomen often carefully air brushes their transgenderism out of the story.

When The Guardian reported on the violent crimes committed by fell runner Lauren Jeska the fact that Lauren is trans wasn't mentioned, despite the fact that this was what provided the motive for the crime. A coach realised that Lauren had been cheating, winning sporting trophies as a woman despite being male. Lauren set out to silence him, and nearly succeeded.

Bambambini · 11/01/2017 19:44

Seems it's a double edged seord - maybe depending on the type of publication. The Sun/DM wants sensationalist Trans stories. Others seem to be brushing over the trans connection.

I was reading on some trans responses to the Evie Amati story. They were angry that although one article (and others) named Evie throughout as a woman with no mention of "trans" or previous history - the last line just happened to slip in that Evie was asking for hormone drugs common to those transitioning from male to female. Some transfolk were quite disgusted at this blatant outing.

It would be interesting to have proper stats on the amount and type of crimes committed by TW and how it compared to mon trans stats. That would be us assuming (possibly wrongly) the gender identity of all the general population of course as non trans.

Such a minefield - scared to assume that the earth is round and the sky is blue.

I agree with you Prawn.

The reporting often misses out very relevant but trans negative facts. Including, as you say, sometimes the fact that the person is trans.

The article in the OP that fails to mention that the person is a convicted paedophile is very creepy.

Report
SomeDyke · 11/01/2017 19:59

I agree with Prawn. The specific problem seems to be with reporting of stories of trans individuals. In the Lauren Jeska case, that fact was omitted despite the fact that it was totally relevant, and in the Wells case, the fact that he was a paedophile and rapist was omitted because they were doing a 'brave transsexual' story. Really, can you imagine a rapist and paedophile getting any other sort of write-up where they didn't mention that little fact!

Seems we are indeed told repeatedly that (at least) transwomen are no more likely that any other male to be a sexual predator, yet even when they are a convicted rapist (this case, or at least an admitted rapist in the case of the transwoman on the National Geographic cover) , this fact is not mentioned when the 'brave trans person' rhetoric is being told. I really cannot think of any other characteristic (apart from being a lauded male film director), that so 'disappears' rape and child abuse.

Totally relevant in the Somerset Live story, it says:
"by starting up a mutual LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) support group in Wells."
So, a planned support group that might be of interest to youth, to be organised by a convicted rapist and paedophile? They thought this wasn't relevant? Or that any local LGB group going might/should have qualms about including a convicted rapist amongst those offering 'support'? Nope, seems the T washes you clean of all sins...................

There are lots of issues.

Here's another one with illegal pornography.

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/transgender-woman-spared-jail-brutal-5539927

"Dawn Love, aged 55, was caught red-handed with pornographic images of people having sex with horses when she took her phone into an 02 shop to be repaired.

When police searched her car they also found a DVD showing someone having sex with a dog.

Despite having a long list of previous convictions, including two suspended sentences, and the offence crossing the custody threshold, Judge Christopher Critchlow opted not to send her to prison for her own safety.

He heard how there is a much higher risk of transsexual people both attempting to and committing suicide in custody than the rest of the prison population."

"Asked if she would be happy to attend a rehabilitative women's programme, Love cheerfully gave the judge a thumbs up."

And another:
www.pinknews.co.uk/2010/07/14/trans-woman-spared-prison-over-child-porn-offences/
"A trans woman found guilty of downloading indecent images of children has been spared jail by a judge who said it would be an “appalling experience” for her.
Laura Voyce, 20, of Kirkby, Merseyside, was convicted of 14 counts of downloading indecent images of children.
Some of the images were classifed as level four – the second most serious. "

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/female-transsexual-walks-free-court-8546941

Male-to-female paedophile who abused a child while still living as a man given conditional discharge without therapy because

" all of the courses run for sexual offenders are only available to men."

So a man abuses a child and then he says he's not a man any more so he can't be rehabilitated?

More stupid nonsensical, confusing language in this interview with the victim:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/victim-vile-bondage-paedophile-tells-8608834

"During the six-month period of abuse, Gina [my note: who was then known as Gareth] made a teenage Casey tie her ['him'] up in bondage sessions, urinate in her ['his'] mouth and humiliate her ['him'] by hitting her ['his'] then-male [not clear what this means - it says Gareth/Gina had 'gender reassignment' but that doesn't necessarily mean genital surgery] genitals."

The case sounds to me fairly severe given that

(a) the paedophile was in a position of trust [school taxi driver]
(b) the victim was not only a child but also attending a school for children with emotional problems, so especially vulnerable.

www.hulldailymail.co.uk/misunderstood-mercy-transgender-woman-snatched/story-28718008-detail/story.html

"A TRANSGENDER woman who turned to drink to cope with her life tried to steal a woman's handbag to buy more booze. Laura Hudson, 41, "terrified" her victim when she tried to pull her handbag from around her neck in Dairycoates Avenue, west Hull, on July 6 last year.
"

"Support worker Olivia Bachelor accompanied Hudson to court, and said she was now living in a women's hostel "

"Judge Jeremy Richardson QC said the offence was so serious it merited a prison sentence, but he was able to suspend it, given the background to the case."

The Sun/DM wants sensationalist Trans stories.
Could you point to an example of sensationalist reporting of crimes committed by a trans person? The only one I've seen was about a trans man who was reported as "a woman pretending to be a man". For some reason there has not been uproar about misgendering/outing in that case, I wonder why Hmm

It would be interesting to discover who was funding the lobby groups, who protest this isn't so/minimise these issues.

There is a horrible porn centered rabbit hole on the web, where folk who might have kept thoughts in perspective, are validated and encouraged by an echo chamber of like minded individuals. It is of no surprise to me that these stories keep coming up.

You have to scroll quite. along way down the article to read that ,'she' has requested hormone medication typically prescribed to transgender individuals transitioning from male to female.

And whaddya know, another profile of a wonderful transwoman who turns out to be a violent criminal a month or two later:

www.thesun.co.uk/living/1495131/glam-transgender-woman-tells-of-finding-love-with-man-despite-still-having-her-male-bits/

Natalie "was then put on a waiting list and told she must live as a woman for two years before she could be considered for full gender reassignment – to have her penis turned into a vagina."

"But for Natalie, patience isn’t her strong point.

She explained: “I was fine with the idea of living as a woman – wearing women’s clothes, applying make-up and doing my hair.

“But I found the wait to have surgery done such a long time.

“So I started looking into other alternatives – things I could do in the meantime.”

Natalie started looking at websites for transgender people and ordered female hormones online which she began taking.

She admitted: “I know it sounds dangerous getting stuff on line but I was meeting more and more transgender people and they were all doing it."

Two months later:

www.thesun.co.uk/news/1830459/trans-woman-with-all-her-male-bits-ordered-to-serve-her-jail-time-for-battering-lover-in-womens-prison-over-bullying-fears-at-mens-jail/

Convicted of domestic violence and sent to WOMEN'S prison.

The excuse?

"Gareth Bellis, defending, said: “This is a woman who is going through a long transition in her life from male to female, with large hormonal imbalances"

So you illegally bought fucking hormones on the internet, and then you want to say that was why you attacked someone and breached a restraining order? Surely an aggravating factor?

'Dawn Love' (of the animal porn case above) is in the news again.

This time (s)he is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl on multiple occasions.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4332436/Transgender-woman-groped-15-year-old-girl.html

"She pulled up the victim's top and kissed her stomach. The complainant tried to force her off but unfortunately Ms Love was too strong and it only stopped when they heard a noise. It lasted about two minutes.'"

"On June 7 Love arrived at the alleged victim's home again and offered to take her out for the day.

The court was told that the alleged victim only got into the car because she thought another family member was coming with her, but was only followed out of the house by Love.

'She found herself in a position of being driven by Ms Love against her will,' Mr Elliot told the court, before describing a similar sexual assault behind the wheel."

'She kept asking why she couldn't do it and I said she was much older than me and that I didn't want her to do it.

'She's quite powerful because she used to be a man, she's still got all that.

Ugh. So Dawn Love got spared jail in 2015 because Dawn was vulnerable (despite a record of sex offences) and then went on to sexually assault a girl. Disgusting. If Dawn had received a custodial sentence, maybe that girl wouldn't have had to suffer the assault Angry

I agree with Prawn, they either airbrush out the sex offense or the fact they are transgender.
I did not know that gender reassignment surgery does not always include the genitals. I mean, seriously, come on.

Report
DickToPhone · 20/03/2017 22:46

the present incident took place in 2014. So it is likely that that the victim only came forward after recovering from her brainwashing/conditioning that transwomen are wonderful ("Because I knew her I thought she was an all-right woman. I didn't think she was anything like that. ") and none of them would do anything wrong, when seeing the reports on Love's 2015 offence.

In 2015, he said ' 'I do not know the people who get into my van and tie me up and have sex with me. I wouldn't know where to start. Nine times out of ten I am off my head on drugs.''

It seems likely to me that the victim only got the courage to come forward vs. this much older man when he was charged with other sex offences.

Report
DickToPhone · 20/03/2017 22:53

There are hints in the 2015 reports about his behaviour:

'"But also someone who was moved out of Hampshire by police in 2011 or 2012 because of the extent of the abuse and harassment from neighbours.'

except:

deepcutvillage.wordpress.com/2013/12/04/lightwater-woman-charged-with-criminal-damage/

"A woman from Lightwater has been charged with criminal damage following an incident on Sunday afternoon (1 December).

Dawn Love, 54, of The Avenue, Lightwater, has been released on bail and is due to appear at South West Surrey Magistrate’s Court in Guildford on 16 December.

Police were called to address in Lightwater just before 1pm following reports that a car had been damaged with blue paint.

15 police officers and residents having to stay inside there homes for several hours while this went on!"

Note that Love's previous sentence was 9 months suspended for two years. I am not clear if this offence would count (as it predates the 2015 conviction), nor what the relevant dates are (sentencing, charge, trial, etc.) for the 2 year period.

He also has conviction(s) for possession of a knife.

Quite a nasty piece of work. Exactly how he is described as a 'Housewife' is beyond me.
