Chef Evans-don't be put off reporting rape

My rapist was acquitted. He used two drug addicts who knew me to discredit me. I have no regrets on reporting him. He spent six months on remand, six months on tag. He has a black mark against his name. He will not pass an enhanced DBS. I showed him I would not disappear. He has not ruined my life, in fact my life has improved because I was forced to find my self esteem that had been buried during this "relationship". If people don't report, what kind of society do we have? Yes it's an awful process but I would feel so much worse if I'd kept quiet. Do not let this case skew our knowledge of right and wrong. I see a leak future for us all if we sit back and let them get away with it. My attacker didn't get away with it, he was traumatised by the process and deserved every minute of it. I feel proud that I stood up for myself and that women in the future may be safer around this pig.

I'm sorry that you were put through that, queen, and I'm glad that you have taken the positives that you were able to from the situation, and that your rapist faced consequences for his actions.
