Just been sent my first unsolicited dick pic...

...a private message to my bloody etsy shop of all things! What is wrong with people? Would you respond or ignore it? I've reported it but who knows when it'll be dealt with.

How revolting!

Just ignore as they're probably wanting a reaction from you - don't give them it. Is there any way you can block them?

I would report it to the police.

Thanks Lassi, I suspect he's in America but might be worth reporting anyway.

If you have any of his details, can you find his facebook page and post it publicly on there? I'd be tempted to show all his friends what a slimy little lowlife he is.

Bye Felipe might cheer you up or give you some ideas, too.

A gif of a large number of women laughing hysterically?

I suspect I've found his email address and place of work, I can't be too sure though as only going off a username so don't want to get some poor innocent fella into trouble! If it's him he is in America, is there any point reporting it as a crime here then? Would anything actually happen?

Use the Etsy reporting system as well

A chap I've been on a few dates with and slept with once or twice went on holiday and proceeded to send me a dick pick with the caption "miss me?"

Needless to say I didn't see him on his return.

Report
Ebbenmeowgi · 29/09/2016 09:28

Oh roar, why do they do it? They're really not the most attractive thing in the world anyway and really not so special once you've seen more than one, haha.

I don't know!! But actually sometimes I find a good unsolicited dick pic useful PURELY so I know to cut my losses there and then.

I mean, I don't send pics of my vag about. Especially to strangers!

I read this recently...

gawker.com/cocky-guy-sends-woman-unsolicited-dick-pic-woman-sends-512320565 (If you can't be bothered to read the article, basically this woman forwarded the unsolicited dick pic to the guys mum...

Another funny response I've seen is to spam him back with lots of dick pics (just do an image search, you'll find plenty) and see how he likes it Grin

Ask for a better pic as your struggling to see it? Grin

Whyyyy, why, why, why do they do this?

Has there EVER, ever in the history of the world been a woman who was impressed with an unsolicited dick pic?

I was in a pub once and overheard this:

"I was ironing and this bloke came out of one of the bedrooms half dressed, walked over, and without a word, plonked his stiffy on my ironing board."

"So what did you do?"

"I ironed it."

This is an interesting perspective. Basically, that these men would like women to send explicit pictures too and can't get their heads around the idea that the recipients have a different viewpoint. Also that they are like toddlers who crave attention and even negative attention is better than nothing.

I think it's bizarre behaviour.

sentia, that aricle seemed to suggest that reaaaally, some women are just coyly waiting to be asked if they'd like a dick pic, in which case it's a matter of etiquette. Also, that the problem is mostly society's suppression of female sexuality, so if girls could just lighten up a bit and talk to the guys then we could all find a way that guys can carry on doing this but in a socially acceptable way. it's just a miscommunication. Shaming the poor dim boys is wrong.

There was a subtext of, girls, you want it really, we understand, you just want boys to ask nicely, and then it's better right?

Urgh.

I might be odd here but I do t think I'd photograph my penis and send it to someone, even if they asked.

They're not exactly the most photogenic part of the human anatomy are they? Looks like a half defrosted frozen sausage with more skin an meat.

Yes Hairy I agree with you on the article's undertone that women should learn to be ok with it, I don't agree with that at all.

But men undeniably do this, a lot of them. I absolutely think there are a lot of sexual aggression undertones, but that doesn't seem to fully explain it. Which is why I thought the article was interesting - the point about exhibitionism being more common in more anonymous environments for example.

Report
HairyLittlePoet · 30/09/2016 10:25

I think it's about asserting power in most (all?) cases. If it was pure exhibitionism then men would be sending these pics indiscriminately to their mums, MPs, best mates, dads, work colleagues, football team mates, commanding Officers.

As it is, they send them to female strangers.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 30/09/2016 10:44

I wonder if part of it is that they secretly think their dick is sooo special that just showing it to a woman will make her weak with desire. Grin

I did similar with the (luckily) only dick pic I was ever sent. Was off some creepy guy who was apparently trying to impress me. Unfortunately for him..I had the numbers of a few of his friends, who were swiftly forwarded the pic and the sleazy message. No regrets.

The modern day flasher... my mum has told me many a tale of flashers back in her day, I think it's pretty much the same thing, only they have a wider audience and have to do it more to get a response as most women will now just block and report.

I would imagine they do want the reaction of humiliation, disgust or anger they want you to engage and at this point they gain power - much like the flashers (who I'm sure still exist just not so common) of course women shouldn't have to put up with this, but I'm not sure how it could ever be stopped sadly.

I do think this is potentially a different type of person than the type who send it on OLD, that's more - me man, me have penis now you have seen the golden shrine you must want me. Hahahahahaha

All very very wrong

It's a power/attention thing that pathetic creatures do because they're inadequate. I'd report (if you can get police involvement all the better) and ignore.
