I'm fed up with being told hairy is bad.

So after another day of heat where I can't wear shorts because of my leg hair I just wanted to see if anyone else was either fed up with being told that "no hair is beautiful" or ashamed to go out with hairy legs because they feel it's disgusting? I'm so effing hot I just want to be able to be hairy and not be judged!!!!! I can't shave because it brings me out in a bloody rash instantly and only lasts a day, so I wax. That lasts a week max. I wish I could just be a hairy lady and not care but I do care. Didn't know where to post so sorry if this is wrong for feminist chat.

Do what you want, I certainly don't mind.

I am pretty good at ignoring the pressure but yes, I wish it wasn't out there. The thing that bugs me the most is when women talk as if natural pubic hair is just the most disgusting, unhygienic, hideous thing ever.

I think if you just get on with it and do what you want with your hair, though, people care / notice less than you might expect.

Why not worry less about what others think? That way you can do what the heck you like Smile

I don't think anyone cares enough to comment, do they? People may be surprised as it isn't a cultural norm here, but I can't think anyone I know would be disgusted. I like my legs feeling smooth, so I shave. Works for me and it's my choice. I don't feel particularly pressured and I happily go out with quite a length of leg stubble (5-7 days worth) and don't shave above my knee.

Many of my friends who day "I'm SOOOO hairy at the moment" have leg hair I only dream of. I just want like minded women to say yes, I do get fucked off with social pressures and media and advertising putting pressure on us to be smooth. I'm just hot and angry and ultimately want to be a baldy but feel that life would be easier if we were "allowed" to be hairy

My legs look like that half the time and I still wear shorts and stuff. Really not bothered

Seriously really would not notice that unless I was wearing a monocle

I don't shave in the winter at all. I swim 4 time a week and no-one comments, it's a lot less noticeable than most people think (or most real people are adult enough to know not to pass comment on something that is none of their business). Although when I told a workmate I hadn't shaved for 6 months (pretty normal comment in the spring to my mind) she told me I was a goat!

I shave my legs in the summer so it's not like I don't feel the pressure, I shaved under my arms a few weeks ago when it was warm so I could wear a sleeveless shirt to work and instantly regretted it, made my underarms feel all weird and sticky. Social pressure is a bitch.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be patronising I just am not that bothered. I do shave and I like it, but I'm also hella lazy so can go easily a week or more.

I must admit I rarely shave my legs and sometimes I don't even shave my underarms. I don't care and my Dh doesn't care either. The only person I have ever had commented is my mother. Oh and my sister. That's it. Everyone else keeps their mouths shut

I think it was silly not to wear a skirt or shorts

People generally don't look much at my legs I find, so I often don't bother to depilate.

Look at you all hot and cross! It's all in your mind. Free yourself!

We could talk about the fact that my minge fur is so long it blends into my thigh hair?

OP, I don't think you're particularly hairy at all. Have a look at the Hairy Legs Club to give you courage.

I shave when it annoys me. Sometimes that is because i notice i am hairy sometimes it is because i dont like the feel.

I dont shave because others may not like it unshaven me.

I actually thought about this the other day

When did it become a social norm to remove body hair?

My husband has just seen my post as I left my phone on worktop whilst getting dinner ready. He thinks it's disgusting and I am genuinely upset that leg hair bothers him that much. It doesn't stop him sleeping with me or telling me he thinks I'm attractive but he voices the fact he thinks it's "wrong'.

He is a twat. Does he remove all his leg hair? Besides its just hair

I remove all my body hair from the chin down. I get it all waxed and I'm completely hair free for about 2-3 weeks but by week 6 my legs look exactly like yours. Doesn't stop me wearing anything, and I can't say I notice what other women's legs look like either. In fact I mistimed my waxing appointment and have just spent a week in Cornwall walking around in shorts with legs like your picture, I didn't notice anyone recoiling in horror when I walked past.

I go through phases, shaving not shaving, I go to the gym regularly and wear cropped leggings, sometimes I haven't shaved, I can honestly say nobody cares, I also go swimming without having removed my bikini line hair sometimes, nobody can see it? And if they came close enough to me to inspect my groin area I'd give them a swift kick!

DP has never once told me I'm "disgusting"!! Even if I have a full Bush, legs like the gruffalo and under arm hair you could weave?! Is he always so nasty about things?
