The Guardian's censorship of women's comments

Today, just like many other days, an article was posted on The Guardian about transgender issues, and MANY women responded with reasonable concerns. Their comments just like on many other days disappeared without a trace, deleted because they didn't toe the party line on trans issues.

www.reddit.com/r/GenderCritical/comments/46b82s/the_guardian_publishes_an_article_on_bathroom/

Commenters on this forum cite that The Guardian is the third-most viewed news website in the world. How many women read these cleansed-out comments section and feel like they must be the only woman in the world who doesn't think trans women are exactly like other women, should be allowed to participate in women's sporting events, et cetera?

In some ways, it almost seems like gaslighting -- in many of these situations, a tremendous majority of the comments are deleted, leaving only comments from the viewpoint of a small minority (who then look like their viewpoint is the popular one, for anyone reading the story after the erasure). Women's views on this subject are being erased.

Maybe it's time to start an email campaign to The Guardian and let them know that if they discard women's viewpoints, they can also kiss our clicks and subscriptions goodbye. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

There was a recent thread about the Guardian's biased editorial policy.

I was brought up on it and I won't touch it these days.

The 'reporting' of Cologne and subsequent issues was disgraceful. In fact, little reporting just haranguing and insulting emotive tosh.

I don't think they care a jot for women's viewpoints, but it won't hurt to let them know.

I've stopped reading it apart from very occasionally as it annoys me so much. It's similar to the Daily Mail in many respects. I've started downloading the Mirror. I do their cryptic crossword and don't read the paper!

The Guardian is an awful rag. The sooner more people realise it's basically the Daily Mail with London tunnel-vision and a hefty dose of virtue-signalling, the better.

I deleted the app from my phone following the lack of coverage and commentary about Cologne. It's anti-women with its agenda and I hope it goes the same way as the independent.

I was brought up on the Guardian. Do you remember it used to have a 'women' section?
The other day I got a box saying I had read 5 articles in the last month and would I like to become a supporter. Once I would have considered it but these days the anti woman agenda is too obvious. Which makes me sad.

I agree it's a gaslighting and anti women publication.

They wrote an article about Cologne which insisted there had been 'around 100' attacks.

We all wrote and asked them to add the missing zero.

Which is, coincidentally, the number of responses and action taken.

I have recently found them to be actively anti women in certain areas. If their editorial bias wasn't such dangerous Glaslit I'd find it funny.

I used to buy the Guardian every single Saturday and quite often in the week and don't bother anymore. Comment is Free is full of trolls and badly moderated.

That is shocking and let's call it what it is, bias.

After the article which basically said "women shouldn't complain about Cologne because we are lucky enough to own a mobile phone" (aka she was asking for it) I haven't clicked on it.
It has an agenda which is women have rights but absolutely everyone else's rights can play top trumps.

The Guardian will never set its metaphorical foot in to my house again and I bought that paper for 25 years. I don't even look at it online anymore due to a click being able to be used in their viewing stats to entice advertising revenue.

Being nice to immigrants, even if they are vile sexist attackers as in Cologne, trumps being fair to women every time. That's what you get from a newspaper that pretends to hold the moral high ground. If the moral high ground gets too crowded they kick off the most inconvenient occupants.

Yep, it takes about ten minutes for your comment to be removed, how utterly sad.

I stopped reading a couple of years, they decide the issues first and then 'report' the news, and it shows.

This comment of mine on the guardian got deleted. What is wrong with what I said?

Good point, well made.

Thanks :) I've never felt the need to screenshot before reading this thread, even though I've had transgender critical comments deleted on there before. Their moderation policy is baffling.

It's hideous isn't it. I think they must have several full time staffers on just to zap gender critical comments.

I've been boycotting for a month or so, but you're right op, I need to let them know or it won't be noticed.

It's unbelievable. They let all kinds of hateful racist and misogynistic shit stand but they remove just about any even vaguely trans-agenda critical comment. I left one more comment querying the deletions and that's been removed too. Why? Why are they doing this? Why are they being so unprofessional? I feel like saying "fuck you, guardian" and never reading it again but on the other hand, that feels like letting the trans chauvinists win. Sad

Magical, there is nothing 'wrong' with your comments at all Confused. I think the guardian is just about the worst newspaper now because it is so disingenuous. At least The Sun doesn't try to hide its contempt for women.
