Boo hoo. That tiny minority of headbangingly mad extreme feminists that no one would listen to anyway are spoiling feminism therefore feminism is COMPLETELY BROKEN and women need to shut up and start making ironic sandwiches. And blowjobs.

Calling a journalist 'needledick' makes you sound like a solid gold arse to me

Im sorry, but that article is hideous. I couldn't finish it. Shame on you for exposing me to it Grin

Isn't this the same old shit though from another idiot man who's argument seems to be roughly 'shut up feminists! A girl beat me in a test once so you've won now don't we all secretly think this is a bad thing and the evil women will ruin us all?'

Calling a journalist who thinks that racists aren't racist, merely passionate about football, who was a major part of a group that supported and encouraged sectarian violence and murder during The Troubles and which further denied that Serbs were holding Bosnian Muslims in a concentration camp a howling needledick seems pretty tame. It pays to know who you're talking about before you slag off posters, Partial. And I say that as someone who rarely agrees with SGB.

SGB, the article is long and written in a deliberately obfuscatory style and I'm off to work. I'll have to reread it to be able to comment properly, but my first reading of it is that he just really doesn't like women very much at all, not unusual for people who hold the other views he does.

OK, I can only be bothered to read down to the first bar of adverts - but he appears to be living in a different world to me:

No other movement enjoys as much political, cultural and media validation right now as feminism does.... So entrenched is the new feminism that, now, not being a feminist can land you in hot water....

So in a very short period of time, feminism has gone from being viewed as the ideology of small groups of women to being the organising principle of vast swathes of Western public life. Politics, media, culture, international relations, global conflict — no area has been left untouched by it.

if only that were the case.. and err.. aren't women 50%, why shouldn't we have a hand in vast swathes of life (what with being the ones that grow it and all), why wouldn't we be involved in all areas?

I have to say, it was hard going and I gave up. I will try to finish it.

Needledick is a great insult. Just like giant wizard's sleeve, which I assume we are all now liberated to throw about.

Do you feel it particularly applies to you?

I prefer blistering thundercunt as an insult myself, or even hoofwanking bugglecunt at a push.

However, enough analysis of the epithet employed, what did you think of the article, Radio?

BriarRainbowshimmer · 14/06/2015 18:51

"blistering thundercunt" would be a great nn.

Sorry, not clicking the link.

The article was too boring for me to get past the first paragraph. Isn't he just writing for like minds?

The article was too boring to finish, but I skim read some of it.

Some of it seemed to be a fair point, if absurd in execution, in relation to the coloring of thought with the feminist agenda. But overall, it read like a lot of paranoid nonsense.

I struggled to the end but it was highly irrational.

Of course Oxford University scored a spectacular own goal by refusing to allow him to be involved in an abortion debate (where I think he may even have been pro-choice) so he'll dine out on that for years.

I couldn't read it all as he can't write for shit. I'd rather describe him as an ocean-going arsewipe.

blistering thundercunt is fabulous. I wonder if I'll ever get to use it without causing massive offence?

The article was very, very boring. I normally love getting outraged but this was too much like hard work.

He's annoyed with modern feminism for not paying enough attention to Camille Paglia. Do you think he's ever actually read any Camille Paglia?

I don't always agree with SGB but I invariably agree with her when she calls a bloke a "howling needledick". I think I'll trust your judgement on this one SGB and forego the article Grin

I'm not going to read the article – it's Brendan O'Neill isn't it? He's a professional troll and he's been doing his anti-feminist schtick to his audience of a few dozen 'libertarian' MRAs for ages.

For some unfathomable reason he was invited to give evidence to the UK parliamentiary committee debating the gay marriage bill. The MPs reacted to his nonsensical contribution by openly laughing at him, rolling their eyes, interrupting him, and declaring themselves so "bemused" that they chose not to waste time interrogating him.

That select committee report is hilarious! His main argument seemed to be that gay people were not campaigning for marriage in the right way. Confused
