Am I the only one troubled by this? It seems to me that sexualisation of a young child is inappropriate. Never mind covering up in the sun.

It is Next in Exeter, and yes I have contacted them.

Looks like the top has fallen off the shoulder to me... Or they are advertising that it's loose fitting sun top. Great for hot sunny days on the beach

They are advertising it as top great to cover up in the sun surely?

And positioned to show the clothes underneath to advertise them to.

I just thought it was so you could see the shorts, I wouldn't look twice but then I don't tend to think that way and look at things that way iykwim.

I'm another who sees a normally rumpled child, not a sexualised image.

(And no, it wouldn't make a good beach cover up as the material is far too thin to stop any UV).

I don't really see anything sexualised either. They are trying to show as many items of clothing as possible, hence the top slightly falling off (not exactly proof of its suitability as a coverup, I admit!) and pulled up. Looks like a rumpled kid to me.

I also don't see what is sexualised about it.

Looks fine to me

I think the top is too big for the dummy. The person who has dressed it has tried to show the swimming costume and the shorts too.

Doesn't look at all sexual to me, think it is weird that that's where your mind went. It's a child in summer holiday/beachwear, not hotpants, fishnets and heels.

Is it because she's pulling the top up? I read that as "about to go paddling".

I agree with whirl - "the child" is at the beach she has a loose floaty top on to cover up her shoulders from the mid day sun - but shes off to paddle so she's raising it up a little so it wont get wet - which is fine as she has shorts on underneath.

It does look a little like the Alice Liddell Beggar Maid photo. Maybe that is what OP is thinking of?

I dunno if it's just my ipad, but the dummy appears to have make up on? If so I can see where the OP is coming from? It might be just the way my ipad displays colours.

It's just as you say, OP.

It looks to me like bad window dressing, the hat and the top are too large for the mannequin hence the falling off one shoulder thing, but it doesn't look sexualised.
