I'm just... Shock "Justice for Men and Boys"

"The human rights of men and boys in the United Kingdom have been increasingly assaulted by the state’s actions and inactions for over 30 years, as they have across much of the developed world. J4MB is the only political party in the English-speaking world campaigning for the human rights of men and boys, including the right of all children to enjoy good access to both parents following family breakdowns, and the restoration of fatherhood and strong families."

They don't care about daughters then? I guess they're just not that important?!

Wow, just... wow. How are people allowed to come out with such crap? Shock

"At the lower end of the social scale, women are choosing what has become known as ‘bureaugamy’–
marriage to the state. They are having children with no intention of being married, and seeking the support
of the state as the surrogate father. Given that men collectively pay 72% of the income tax collected in the
UK, women are effectively replacing men as partners, with men as taxpayers."

"The British state has become ever more hostile towards men and boys, although it’s largely funded by men,
through income tax receipts. Of all the income tax collected by the state, men collectively pay 72%, women
28%.1
In 2011/12 British men paid £68 billion more income tax than women, yet the state disadvantages
men and boys in many areas, usually to advantage women and girls.
There are no areas in which the state disadvantages women and girls. "

Men come on here and interrupt discussions about, for example, DV and women's shelters, with 'what about DV towards men? Where are the men's shelters?'. They get told, quite rightly, that they are perfectly free to go and campaign and raise awareness and funds for themselves. If men want stuff to address men's problems, men should sort it out. Isn't this an example of that? They might show questionable working out in their figures, but show me a party that doesn't.

Report
ChunkyPickle · 08/04/2015 08:25

Oh he's very miffed about shelters.

Not miffed enough to start any, just miffed enough to write a couple of books and start a political party instead.

I find his language disturbing (among other things) - demanding access to children, as if they are some kind of shared driveway, neatly denying all the figures which show the reality of the situation, or accepting any responsibility for anything. The bitterness is strong with this one.

Wow there is something about him isn't there. An interesting psychological study if ever I saw one.

Report
ChopperGordino · 08/04/2015 08:28

No yops that isn't what they are trying to do - if only. What they object to is women having hard-won rights, which they perceive as detrimental to boys and men (read: loss of privilege). It's a zero-sum game to them.

Report
ChunkyPickle · 08/04/2015 08:34

Yep, it's the nasty women who are breaking up families, taking mens jobs, keeping the children from their fathers, and taking all the fathers money.

I wish I was over-stating there, but that's just a shorter version of exactly what he says.

I just read a précis of this thread to DP.
Him: so who are they?
Me: they're a political party for men.
Him: all political parties are for men aren't they?

Quite.

Oh. The nostalgia. That whole thing about men paying more income tax. The reason for that is THEY, ON AVERAGE, EARN MORE, the numpty.

I would be delighted for women to be paying more tax.

No Yops, organisations such as ManKind or MenUnited are examples of orgs that do that. This 'party' is an example of a man having what could best be described as a toddler tantrum for the masses. You could almost feel sorry for him if you didn't realise that he doesn't mean all men should be back in charge with women subservient, he means men like him, white, middle class, wealthy.

J4M&B (and the women who love them) is a load of old bollocks, however, just be aware that he has a google trace on his name and his party's name.

I don't think he wants to take the vote away from us Grin but he just wants women to stfu.

One only needs to look at the language he uses on his website "hatchet faced feminist" "whiny feminist" "lying feminist' "special snowflake" etc, and look at his book covers to see his feelings about women. He is a very bitter man.

His last petition really took off though, with a grand total of 45 signatures after about a year Grin

I quite like the idea of being a hatchet faced feminist though. I would also consider his lying feminist of the month to be a badge of honour.

Report
SabrinnaOfDystopia · 08/04/2015 09:54

Yes, I believe the last recipient took it thus Wink

More disturbing are his followers - a man who donated to his party describes (in horrific detail) his sexual assault of a young girl (sticking his hand up her skirt) and when said girl complained to his mother, he took this as evidence that "women make up lies about sexual assault".

It's frightening that these men walk our streets.

I read his proposals in the manifesto link.

Geez, he's really paranoid isn't he?

He's anti abortion but says men's consent to sex isn't consent to fatherhood!

I laughed at most of it but actually it's quite scary that there are men like that.

Throw women who've had a drink before they've found out they are pregnant in jail for 16 years!!

Shared patenting for seperated parents, one week with one, one week with the other- yes that's going to work with newborns & schools!!

Dragging the UK back into the caveman era, that's what he's trying to do. Women are not equal to men. Things have got a lot better, but there's still a way to go before things are anywhere equal and it's taken centuries to get this far. When I see men sharing the childrearing, the household chores 50/50 and when I see a woman being paid the same as a man for doing the same work, then that will be better. At the moment the majority of single parents are mother's because the man has pissed off and left her to it. Many avoid paying maintenance (which society doesn't bat an eyelid at) and take no responsibility for the welfare or upbringing of their child. I don't hate men, there's a lot out there who are wonderful, but there's a lit of dickheads out there too.

Does this make me a feminist? Confused

I'm sorry to say, LadySybil, it probably does. Commiserations.

From the website: "Domestic violence – women are as physically aggressive towards opposite-sex intimate partners as men, or more aggressive" - wtf?

GibberingFlapdoodle · 08/04/2015 12:08

I'm not looking up any more about them, the bit you've quoted is appallng enough. Everything women do is their fault and everything men do is as well. They just want the right to drag us all by the hair into their caves and keep us there, just like all the cartoons, and if they're denied that it's tears and tantrums all round. Poor diddums.
