Buchanan is a well-known misogynistic knob, LongDistance. I think he probably had a disappointed childhood Grin

Oh dearie me Hmm

Serious question though - how would halving the time limit on abortion, as he proposes doing, benefit men?

I mean, I can see why many groups of people would want to restrict women's reproductive rights, like religious nutters and... er... religious nutters, but men? What do they gain from forcing a 13-week-pregnant woman to give birth?

They keep her down for potentially her whole life, restrict women's freedoms and force them into the bottom of the workplace. So, quite a lot.

I just skim read the manifesto. He quotes wikipedia.

I'm not a man-hater; he's a complete tool.

Some of the comments underneath sum him up pretty well Grin

Is it possible he had a frontal lobotomy without noticing…?

"Is it possible he had a frontal lobotomy without noticing…?"

I think you have to possess a brain first before someone can take part of it away. What a waste of a human body.

I must admit the comments are good, apparently he's been misunderstood, poor lamb.

Well my first thought was 'Wow, we must be more successful than we thought!' My second thought was 'Hm, he looks unsavoury'.

I'm just reading the manifesto and ranting about the bit where girls shouldn't be encouraged into STEM(M) subjects. Now it seems to be descending into a series of "what about the menz?!" statements on domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Surprised he's not popped up on this thread to put the silly ladies right. Although, I have a feeling he was banned last time, due to his deep misogyny and inability to carry an argument in a bucket.

He gets airtime almost every week on radio in Notts (I believe). He's also on This Morning with CCP tomorrow.

Love the way he pops up on the comments Grin He always does.

He has the dead eyes of a psychopath.

He's been on FWR before. He's probably reading this thread waiting to leap in with a "hello ladies" (assuming he's managed to scrape his arse off the plate).

What a cretinous waste of skin. He should be ashamed to call himself a 'man'

I remember Flora. Think he might have been crushed by the ban hammer though?

Was reminded that he had given CCP his whiny woman/lying feminist of the month award. Suspect she might get it again this month...

Just watched him on This Morning. What an utter tool. Apparently feminists are also to blame for the high rate of male circumcision. Huh?

Oh and CCP has been the lucky recipient of his award not once but TWICE! I don't know how she managed to keep a straight face tbh...

It's on again on This Morning in about 10 minutes. I need to make a cup of tea before watching.

Haha - Phillip Schofield: "you're single now, after 2 divorces, are you just a bitter man?" Grin

CCP raise the very good point about his policies on families/family break ups. On the one hand he wants the father to be the patriarchal head of the family, and to introduce more tax breaks to encourage women to stay at home with the children.

Then, if the family breaks downs - he says each parent has alternate weeks with the children- with no CM payable. Each parent foots the bill for their week. Well, leaving aside the fact that this may not be the best thing for the children - the wife has given up her job/career/earning potential to look after the children (because according to him, women don't really want careers) whilst the husband has carried on on his career trajectory unimpeded by the birth of his children.

He wants women to go back to the good old days when they were subjugated to a man: the 'head of the household' - no wonder he's anti-feminist!!

He's just pissed that don't know their place anymore.

WhyHasTheGinGone · 15/01/2015 12:01

Ah but don't forget, according to their manifesto, once the woman who was 14 weeks pregnant and denied an abortion has given birth, the father won't be required to pay unless he expressly stated and signed a document agreeing he is willing to support the child before they had sex...and even if he has signed such a declaration, the baby will undergo a mandatory paternity test, just to make sure it's his

Because I know he has a google alert set up on his name:

Mike Buchanan: you are a whiny, over privileged white man who merely hates women and wants everyone to know it.

Report

I had to turn it off after a few seconds. I just listen to another pompous white dude complaining that women don't like him and wont go and make him a sammich.

You missed his classic line, when Philip asked him if he was ever going to marry again.

"No, I don't want to be a slave"

I sprayed twiglets all over my screen at that point.

My first reaction to that was 'ha ha, what a fool' and then it actually made me feel quite upset that a man who doesn't know me hates me enough to form a political party in order to try to suppress my freedom. I find it quite chilling and not funny at all.
