How do feminists feel about porn?

Most of us on these boards at least see p0rn as degrading women. That the sex that takes place within p0rn is little more than filmed rape and that the only winners in p0rn are the men who control it.

There are possibly 2 women who post regularly who would disagree with that.

Personally, I don't watch porn and never would. At best it is nasty and exploitative. At worst it is filmed rape.

I agree that porn belittles women in many ways - I also believe it advocates violent sexual acts against women - choking for example. I don't watch it.

It worries me it's so accessible, and so many women report men 'acting out' porn on them in ways that is none too pleasurable to them. It is worrying for men and women on that level - I think it's affecting our sexual relationships in a bad way.

@OP, I think it depends on what genre of porn one watches. If one watches BDSM porn where one person is the "dom" and another is the "sub" then the viewer could interpret the sub (who could be M or F) to be belittled/degraded (but if they are consenting adults, who are we to judge).

What about amateur porn (ie everyday adults who have sex and choose to upload it online for non-profit)? When people think porn they automatically think of professional porn stars with fake boobs and huge wangers but amateur porn is becoming increasingly popular with cheap video cameras and high speed internet connections.
