It is the best goal out of all three and Im not just saying that because I am a woman or because I am Irish.

My fear is the flashiness of the other peoples videos outshines hers, and I would be afraid people will get dazzled by the shiny lights of sky sports quality footage.

To be honest, it's a bit of a swinger - it could've gone anywhere. And the defender's nowhere near tight enough - she shouldn't be getting the second touch, let alone the third. But it still looks great. I've voted.

ooh bit harsh there dancingbear!! Agree the defender was a bit on the back foot, but she still had to control the ball and evade her as she commited herself, and you could forgive the defender for not realising she was such a danger from that far out, and SR was in fact about to score the best goal of 2014 - and I wouldn't call the shot a swinger, surely? She kept her head down low enough and put her laces through it very stylishly. imho anyways.....

Seriously! The defender is on her back and between her and the goal the whole time. I watched it over an over again and the only difference I see is that in the men's team she would have been pushed down in the area and given a penalty. There is no interception or tackle to be made by anyone.

The Rodriguez goal is superb, but there are plenty of players that have taken down a ball and curved a high ball in this season. Very few have taken an aerial pass, kept it in the air in the box and volley scored. That's unique and why she deserves it.

I nearly started this very thread earlier!

It's a shame it was a mere woman's match ( ) and therefore the camera angle is lousy. It would have looked even more awesome if the camerwork was as professional as it is in the men's game.
