Father giving out money

So, I was in my son's room (he's 7) and I was sitting on his bed trying to get him to go to sleep (he can be very active and never wants to sleep). He was telling me a ridiculous story that was clearly a way to stay up later. He does this a lot and stupidly, I know I shouldn't, but always find this funny and I try to hide it, but I let him keep going for a while to see where it goes. Like, I don't let it go on for a really long time, just a little.

So, eventually, I said, seriously time to sleep and he said, will you give me $20? I said, um no and said why and he said his dad gives him $20 to go to sleep. So I didn't say anything, I just said ok and kissed him goodnight and left.

I was really angry though, cuz we had a drama in our house recently. So I went downstairs to see DH and he was drinking vodka in the kitchen. I mentioned it to him and he said (along the lines of) Yeah so a little incentive gets then to sleep.

Is it just me or is this totally not how to get kids to do things?

Normally, I'd be freaking out, but when I phoned my mother, she didn't seem to understanf my problem.

I also spoke to one of my girlfriends and she thought it was funny.

Am I overreacting? I just don't want my kids to think they get money whenever they act right. We don't even have enough to buy them whatever they want anyway.

I'm so angry with my husband right now.
