It's pretty hard-hitting stuff but she makes some excellent and valid points.

The way she talks about the energy in feminism in the 80s and the backlash we've had since is really depressing though

I've always loved and agree wholeheartedly. I just don't watch crime drama at all, nothing on this earth would have persuaded me to watch Ripper Street. And I am sick of people defending it and normalising it (plenty on Mumsnet who do).

I always imagine there are about 10 men in baggy jeans and death metal tshirts sequestered in a room in the Midlands, whose job it is to write sad/lonely/whataboutmeeeeeeeee comments at the end of every single article which isn't ...er... about them. Probably funded by some kind of joint investment from Nigel Farage and his ilk and MRA organisations.
