Is it OK to be misogynistic if its "ironic"? I'm thinking no...

I've just returned from watching DS (9) in a school performance. The children performed brilliantly... But, it seemed to me that the whole play was based on the premise that girls are rubbish. I don't want to say too much as it would be recognisable, but throughout the play there were: - jokes like "you'll make my dinner first" - girls can't do that - I'm not strong, I'm a girly girl - running joke was deliberate mispronunciation of a word so it became "pussy" instead of the word it should have been There was one character that I suppose was meant to be the 'strong' female, but she didn't actually do anything (nobody would let her) and her character was censured by others because she tried to do things that were unsuitable. These kids are 9 FFS! DM was there too, and while she saw my point, she didn't think it was that bad because she thought it was meant to be ironic. I asked her whether it would be OK to have kids making 'ironic' jokes about negative racial or religious stereotyping. She saw the point. I was close to tears, either with fury or despair, not sure. So I suppose this is a FWR version of AIBU crossed with WWYD!
