This is the headline of op-ed piece in today's Scotland on Sunday. I spat out my coffee reading it. Un-fucking-believable. Why is the Scotsman group inviting his opinion in their paper? Who the hell is he?

His Twitter feed is: @GeraldWarner1

Link to article:

I am sorry but I don't know how to make a clickable link on my phone. Can anyone convert it for me, please?

Just read it Shock

It is a horrendous article. Anti-woman propaganda of the worst kind.

Sad and deeply worrying that women's control of their own bodies is compared to the holocaust.

The ultimate in mansplaining.

I have just read the article three or four times, shocked at what I was reading.

I am disgusted at it, particularly this paragraph:

The motor of the global holocaust is feminism. A woman?s right to kill her child has become a totem of ?empowerment?. The hypocrisy and euphemism are extravagant. In what other matter of life and death would the term ?choice? be used when the individual whose life is at stake has no choice whatsoever? ?A woman?s right to control her own body? is self-serving humbug: it is not her body that is shredded and incinerated but someone else?s. Could there be any more unnatural act than a mother ? the person designated by nature to protect and nurture her offspring ? destroying her baby? What hope for humanity if mother love is extinguished? If there is a hope, it is that moral revulsion is spreading and that the anaesthetised conscience of the Western world may awaken to end this abattoir society

I can't believe any sane human being from this century would hold these views.

I can't believe The Scotsman have published such odious views!

That article has made me feel quite ill. Horrendously poorly written.

I went to look at the comments, assuming that everyone else would be as shocked that this article was printed as me - bloody hell.

WTF has happened at the Scotsman? Who commissioned this shite?

I hadn't realised there were comments. FFS.

Although just seen on twitter that he has 99 followers. So not exactly a leading voice there...

Makes me feel a bit sick. "Mother love" "abattoir". On second thoughts makes me feel very sick. Sensationalist, deliberately provocative, claptrap.

Good God! Where can we complain? I am going to Tweet the Scotsman asap!

Where does this persistent myth that abortions are performed so late that foetuses are being "shredded and incinerated" come from, anyway? That happens in a tiny less-than-one percentage of cases, and nearly always for medical reasons. Most aborted foetuses are a microscopic bundle of non-differentiated cells.

Oh, I know, because it's far more emotive to picture a fully-formed baby being tortured.

Ah, poor shredded baby, awful feckless murdering so-called-mother.

Yeah, and how exactly would he feel if he had a baby he had no interest/ability/money/means/support to raise were suddenly dumped on his doorstep with no out clause? Let alone having to incubate and eject this person from his own body at great personal pain and difficulty first.

FFS. How DARE he!

sleepyhead those comments don't look right. Some of Gerald's lackeys, or Gerry himself has sock-puppeted, I think....

Just think of all those desperate unloved unwanted babies not born into suffering. How terrible Hmm

"What hope for humanity if mother love is extinguished?"
Bollocks! And a slap in the face to (I suspect) the majority of women who have abortions who are either already loving, caring mothers, or go on to become so when the time is right.

Ah Catholicism - a dark land of "Fathers, brothers, sisters" and no "Mothers".

Presumably next week, in the interests of balance, they will be having an op-ed piece by a leading voice in the pro-choice movement? I mean of course they will.
