Normal looking mannequins at a Swedish H & M

Now to me, they look like normal sized women which is a good thing. I can't believe some people actually think that look fat!

Nice but it looks a bit creepy imo since it looks so much like real person!
There were rumors that the mannequins were on display at H&M in Sweden but a spokesperson told Shine: "The image is not from an H&M store. At this time, we are not using this type of mannequin, but we do not rule of the possibility of doing so in the future."
It seems there is no actual source for the picture.

Oh my word, the mannequin at the front looks almost like me! And my bmi is 22 so perfectly healthy.

I think there should be more mannequins like this! At least then you can get an idea of what the clothes will look like on a real person!

I am glad a retailer somewhere in the world realiser that not every person thinks the stick insect look is sexy. Some people prefer curves. She looks great to me.

Well some people have curves. A lot of them do, so it's good if models, mannequins etc look a bit like the average customer. Maybe they could make a couple of different ones with different body types, that would be neat. I'd appreciate if stores that sells their clothes on the internet also would use different models and not photoshop away the waists of already thin models. That's ridiculous. (Esprit and some others are guilty of this)

Stretchmarks? No thanks! I don't want too realistic mannequins actually. They look freaky. A somewhat stylized one but of reasonable size would be nice.

I love these mannequins. They are gorgeous [thus aspirational] but still realistic.

The Swedish do seem to have the right idea.

The recent Gudrun Sjoden catalogue [they have a shop in Covent Garden] came out with the clothes being modelled by [gasp!] real women like their very own store staff. The models are attractive but normal, they do look good in the clothes but are of varying shapes and sizes, also ethnicity and ages. It's so refreshing and actually encourages me to buy because I think well, if those women look good, they're not that dissimilar from me and maybe I'll also look good wearing Gudrun Sjoden.

Then the Boden catalogue arrives and I find myself perusing outfits on stick thin 20 year old professional models and I can't imagine any of the clothes looking good on my 39 year old post two children slightly saggy body.

So guess what, I order from Gudrun and the Boden catalogue goes in the bin.

Surely I can't be the only woman who would welcome some more normality from the fashion industry?
