Today I bought some Vosene Extra Shine Detangler Spray and Headlice Repellent

I bought it for its supposed headlice repelling qualities. It says "For Pretty Princesses" Hmm on it, and there is a picture of a girl with pink hair and a tiara on the bottle. I looked on the shelf next to it to see if there was a version "For Schoolboys and Schoolgirls", but there wasn't.

This sort of thing irritates me beyond belief. The pink princessification of everything. Even nits have to be pink these days. Who thought it was necessary to add that picture and wording to the bottle? Insane.

I get that spray (the product is actually really good) and yes the princess thing baffled me too! I have since found the normal bottle again though.

I wonder who buys it?

I'd choose the standard green bottle.

There wasn't a standard bottle, so I had to buy it. I'm annoyed because I bought it in Asda, then I went to Sainsbury's later on and found they had the Vosene cheaper (still with the sodding princess though), but they had another brand with gender neutral packaging, which I would have bought had I gone there first.

So the answer to who buys it is me, unfortunately. I don't know what makes my skin crawl more, princess stuff, or the nits. It was a panic buy!

I'll bet it doesn't work.

Does Prince Charming get lice too, or is he immune?

I had to remove the label from the bottle before using it on my DSs. It seems to work but smells eye-watering.

No, only princesses get them. It's all the swapping of tiaras that spreads them.

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair--eeeew, eeeew, disgusting!!"

(Stamps around on the ground...)

You'll never see it from Disney.

Wait, so do only pretty girls get headlice? Is this some kind of pro-lice campaign? Make lice cool?

What the hell will they genderify next?

Baffling! The only good thing about all of this princess pinky crap is that girls seem to be growing out of it and associating it with babies and therefore to be avoided at all costs. My DD turned against pink when she was about 6 and won't go near pink now. Her friends are the same.

Do you think nits will become a girly thing then, like ladybugs? I am not buying dd tops with pink nits on them Hmm
