Anyone else been watching this series? I have been consistently impressed by the quantity and calibre of women guests they have compared to other shows. It's presented in a Top Gear style and could easily have been really blokey but they have actually bothered to hire intelligent women scientists and guests.

Tonight's episode had a woman brain expert as the main guest, alongside two women scientists presenting and discussing items as well as an interview with Jessica Hynes. So not the usual tokenistic effort. It's like they've actually bothered the read the much talked-about recent list of women experts.

Obviously this should be the norm rather than the exception but good to see a programme leading the way rather than lazily following the male-dominated standard.

I have only watched tonight's but enjoyed it (with the possible exception of the brain in blender segment). If they consistently have plenty of women on then that's very encouraging.

Ok will give this a shot on iplayer.

The Marcus du Sautoy neutrino program and The Code were well balanced too.'

Don't get me started on that fucking laptop ad with Megan Fox talking to dolphins and all but one of the marine biologists with her were male. Damn, I got myself started.

me too OP, I noticed this the other week. Two women scientists sitting together on the sofa talking about species conservation. Just there for their brainage, nothing else. I was soooo happy...

I love him- His wife is a heart surgeon or something equally clever. Remember him talking about it in his act..seemed an odd pairing comedian/heart surgeon . Nice to see a man who respects intelligence in women
