Glad Tracey Cox has answered the eternally difficult question of whether you should sleep with a man on the first date.......

What a fuckwit.

She actually says this:

"Sometimes, you meet someone and it feels so right and so natural, sex just happens. We’re all adults, right? Isn’t it a bit old-school and anti-feminist to wait for sex?

In some ways yes. But I’d still advise postponing it, at least for a little while, simply because once you sleep with someone, there’s no excuse for not doing it again. You’re instantly thrust into a far more intimate space than you were."

So, there's really no excuse not to sleep with someone again once you have done it once.........

I saw this and thought FFS! What can you expect from Daily Fail though? Such utter drivel.

BunnyLeBOOwski Wed 17-Oct-12 20:31:00

She's a knob.

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker Wed 17-Oct-12 20:31:06

I agree with her. < shrug >

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker Wed 17-Oct-12 20:32:41

hang on...

did she say both paragraphs within your speech marks ?

I agree with the first one (as a stand alone), then she wrecks it with the second.

< sups more coffee >

Yes, she was doing fine with the first paragraph, then it all went wrong.

And she started quoting a few rape myths. Naice.

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker Wed 17-Oct-12 20:38:21

bloody hell, I feel very embarassed now, I misread it blush

Et tu, Tracey Cox? I really thought she was more liberated than that.

simply because once you sleep with someone, there’s no excuse for not doing it again.

I can think of several reasons, erm "excuses". What a twat.

Malificence Thu 18-Oct-12 13:13:30

I take it none of you have seen her "advice" section on the Lovehoney website then?
Gems like - giving a man a blowjob on your knees because he's wanked to those images so many times while using porn that he's "hardwired" to enjoy it more. hmm
Not to be surprised (or upset) that a man has visited sex shows/brothels in Thailand or Amsterdam, it's just "what men do", apparently, Double hmm.

Oh yes, what a twat indeed.

peachypips Thu 18-Oct-12 13:19:21

This is all so stupid! Why can't a person just do what they want to do without getting a label!!!!???? I waited for sex until I was married but I still class myself as being anything- I am just me!!!

Malificence Thu 18-Oct-12 13:38:03

More pearls of wisdom from her own website -
"I actually don’t have a problem with strip clubs, if it’s the odd visit with the boys on a special occasion like a stag ‘do’. It’s usually just a male bonding thing, eye candy, and a place that has a bar that stays open late when all the pubs are closed. Most men don’t consider visiting a strip club as cheating but some women - like you - do"
and another -
"Six months is a long time without sex without a good reason not to do it. Your husband has a right to expect regular sex and ‘duty shags’, I’m afraid, are all part of the ‘working at the relationship’.
yet more -
"Going to watch a live sex show isn't being unfaithful in my books, or an indication he's about to be. If you went to a strip club on a friend's hen's night and watched male strippers, would you consider you'd been unfaithful to him? No, I didn't think so. Yes, a live sex show is more hard core but the fact he's watching rather than having any physical contact, counts for a lot don't you think? Yes, it's probably not something you relish but the guy's travelling with the lads and taking in a live sex show is pretty much obligatory when going to Bangkok."

She's barking! Not to mention potentially damaging to young women who think she's the expert so she must be right. shock

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood Thu 18-Oct-12 13:41:43

Hhmf, assuming you are who I think you are I actually didn't believe tht you agreed with her smile I re read it to see if she was in some way being ironic. glad it was a misunderstanding.

YerMaw1989 Thu 18-Oct-12 15:04:39

I would have said its better to wait a bit so the man isn't 'Oh I got what I came for, laters' and goes silent.
Or personally someone who only needs a meal and few drinks and to have known you a few hours to have sex I wouldn't hold in the highest regard (my personal opinion).

rather than that ^^ tis a bit odd. confused

Dahlen Thu 18-Oct-12 15:09:24

So she completely missed the bit about consent being something that should be continually negotiated then. hmm

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker Thu 18-Oct-12 17:55:50

those views sound pretty mainstream to me (unfortunately)

Lottapianos Thu 18-Oct-12 18:56:21

'Duty shags' are a part of 'working at your relationship'???????????

What planet is she on? That's absolutely foul. She needs to spend some time around the MN feminism boards so we can educate her on how not to make women feel like shit about themselves. 'Expert' my arsehole angry

LittleWhiteWolf Thu 18-Oct-12 20:26:46

I'm aghast at those comments. I used to think she was ok...I guess I missed that attitude. Isn't supposed to be a "sex expert"? What damaging views to push onto women asking for advice.

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker Thu 18-Oct-12 20:54:40

I had that thought from somewhere too, LWW

I must have been very much mistaken
