Wonder Woman Cartoon!

Just sat and watched iron with 7yo dd1. She loved it, it rocks!

Was a bit frustrated by Halle Berry as Cat Woman and have been looking for female super heroes. Anne Bonnie is as close as we got...

Can't remember the televised Wonder Woman in the 70s having ANY kind of feminist message AT ALL? Maybe I was too young and it went over my head???

Can any body recommend any other age appropriate characters/ films/cartoons?

blimey i loved wonder woman, the bionic woman was probably a bit more of a feminist icon.

though are batman et al 'male' icons or a bit silly as they wear rubber costumes

yeah-they are all pretty daft, running around in their rubber underwear! But its good to be able to show characters like this I reckon. So when the kids are playing 'Super Heroes' at schoolplay time over and over and over againthe girls arent left with just being captured or rescued whilst the boys are all Spiderman/Batman/Ben10 etc etc cuz like Wonder Woman sez 'We dont need men to rescue us!'

From the synopsis;

On the mystical island of Themyscira, a proud warrior race of Amazons thrives, shielded from the corrupt world of men. But a betrayal leads to an escape of Ares, the God of War, and Amazon Princess Diana must capture him before he unleashes global chaos and destruction. With the aid of cocky fighter pilot Steve Trevor, Diana tracks Ares to the United States for a battle unlike any humankind has ever faced in this epic tale of the princess who becomes the world's greatest super heroine

The main characters in The Incredibles are husband-and-wife (and children) superheroes.

Despite the name, the X-Men has a range of capable and powerful female heroes, villains, and in-betweens. There are at least three children's animated versions - the most recent is Wolverine and the X-Men, and that page has links to the others.

I'm not sure if either of those is quite what you're looking for, but they may be worth investigating.
