Ok, ok, ok, it's the Daily --Fuckwit Racist Sexist-- Mail so I should have very low expectations...but here we have women and children as possessions AGAIN

It's a racist and sexist bonanza here:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2094362/Cut-outside-world-Closest-recorded-pictures-uncontacted-Indian-tribe-depths-Perus-forests.html

"regularly kidnap other tribes' women and children"

Twice.

Then we've got "the adult female" which is so insulting a way to term adult women. It's as if we are talking about "adult female lions" or some such. Newsflash! They are people!

Then we've got "the Indian tribesmen are vulnerable to common diseases". I wonder if the women are vulnerable too, or if they developed immunity to developee world disease by some magic of being Other.

Let's then move on to the "indians" so many times I have lost count. Couldn't you say indigenous people? Or native peoples?

I blame myself for my current elevated blood pressure as reading the DM is always a ridiculous risk. But really?

lol, I like your take down. Well, females are a different species. The human race is mankind isn't it. Hmm

The only way to dent the DM is to refuse to read or buy it. The management care only about sales.

For as long as they hold up, and it remains the most-linked newspaper on sites such as this, then there is no incentive to change.

If you take out the non-PC language, this is an interesting area. The study of a range of comparatively isolated communities gives interesting insights into how societies, under different conditions, tend to organise themselves.

I think the 'adult female' but annoys me the most.
What planet are these idiots journalists on? Can you imagine a piece about Spain where they talked about 'in Madrid, the adult female does x, y or z'?

'female adult' would be marginally better
'adult women' would be normal
But 'adult female' is strictly reserved for exotic creatures in nature programmes ....and, apparently, women in Daily Fuckspeak.

Edith
I quite agree. It is a fascinating story in itself.

The disappearance presumably at the hands of illegal developers of the other group mentioned (right near the end) is shocking and deserves proper investigation.

The article is sexist, racist, repetitive, waffly and just goes to show how extremely lacking DM journos and editors really are.

The real story should be these indigenous people and their desire to remain isolated which is unusual and could have been discussed more in depth.

I take your point about linking / buying. Apologies.
