By the Guardian, disappointingly.

Why the obsession with whether or not she'd had a facelift? It's takes up about a quarter of the whole article.

There has been a lot of negative reaction to it on Twitter but I liked the interview. It disappoints me that so many lefties say they like Mensch. She is a vile Tory and shows her views about deserving and undeserving people very well in this interview. And the facelift section shows she is a liar.

A vile Tory perhaps Katherine - no more vile thought than the sexist and misogynist Guardian readers many of whose comments were so unacceptable even the liberal Guardian deleted them.

NEVER read the comments sportsfanatic. Most of them are right wing trolls.

face lift is pretty pertinent given societal preoccupation upon looks and lengths that some women go to to prevent any sign ageing. it is v relevant to discuss the facelift, and her reticence is interesting too.

its a fair and legitimate line to pursue

I bow to your superior knowledge, though it's just possible one or two are "vile socialists" Grin

I thought the obsession with the facelift was crap too. A shame, since before that it was a reasonable interview. I thought they had obviously chosen the cover pic to make her look like an alien too. I don't like the woman, but if you see her in news pictures she looks like a perfectly normal 40ish person.

Nothing surprises me about a woman who churns out such utter and complete chick shit.

I don't understand this reasoning: "face lift is pretty pertinent given societal preoccupation upon looks and lengths that some women go to to prevent any sign ageing."

That's just circular logic: "it's relevant because society is interested."

The Grauniad is supposed to be interested in people's politics, not their surgical history. I agree with aviatrix that much the most interesting part of the interview was this idea that she has that she's not really benefited from her background. She needs to watch Trading Places again!

of course its relevant to ask about her face lift, evidently shes had one!why the reticence?its relevant to ask why she clearly buckled to some degree of pressure (whether societal or individual) to get the face work done. worth exploring - and this concept of avoiding signs of ageing and preoccupation with looks is most pertinent.not circular in the least

dont do the faux high minded i want to know only about the politics...
really?
i want to read about the woman, the politics and the surgery. as its inseparable.as a brand, as an author,as a woman,as a politician she clearly feels that her 40something face needs renovation and alteration. that is fascinating as is her that reticence

Oh, I know you want to know about it. I was saying that the Guardian ought not to be writing about it. The Guardian is supposed to be high-minded - that's the whole bloody point of it.

Facelift, shmacelift. It's about as interesting to me as her choice of clothes, ie not very. YMMV.
