feckless father and crazy damaging Mum) and it was about teaching girls to be thin. One slimming pill popping Mum got her fifteen year old to over exercise, earn biscuits (through sit ups) and generally worry sick about getting fat, as did the mother of a six year old who though she wass fat. Although her exercise looked fun and her 'sugar free and fat free diet' just looked like a healthy diet.

The aim for all of the mothers was looking good, having a good body and being slim.

A fat free diet isn't a healthy diet. Children need to eat as much fat as adults, but as children eat smaller portion sizes than adults, the food children eat needs to be higher in fat to make sure they get enough.

I didn't see the programme but saw the one about the young girls (about 7) with anorexia. The specialist on that was saying she believed that the lessons on healthy eating in schools were one of the reasons why younger children were getting anorexia, and this was the reason given by the main girl in the programme.

I think she ate meat though, so can't be fat free can it? (I think)
