Getting naked to highlight ageism

I don't really get the point of this

Im not sure about the prevalence of ageism against women in tv as I've never given it much thought, although given how a lot of women of a certain age try to look and dress like they are 25 I would imagine it is quite prevalent. I'm glad that people are taking a stand against it. However I don't understand the logic behind these women getting naked? I certainly can't imagine a load of 40/50 year ol men getting naked and moaning about a lack of acting work. Thoughts please.

I don't like the program or the way it's presented it perpetuates the gossip celeb industry.

I can never understand why celebs feel the need to get naked over anything but they always do it.
Can't stand Loose Women anyway. Hate all the ''Ooohs'' and ''corrrs'' and how nearly all conversations they have turn around to men and their love life. This is certainly not representative of meet up's and chat's I have with my own friends.

It's kind of like the Calendar Girls thing, and all the other spin offs from that. Perhaps the message is good and maybe they are doing it with good intentions.

But, unfortunately, it just buys into the concept that women presenters/actors are only valued for their appearance and sex appeal, "Hey, don't overlook us, we're still dishy!" and probably just setting themselves up to be ogled or more likely pilloried by those who like poking fun at the appearance of older women.

Oh, and it will make absolutely O difference I'm sure to the careers of those taking part, or older women in television in general.

I know what you mean. Celebs do seem to get naked for just about anything. One of the TOWIE lot was naked in a magazine a few weeks ago because her mum had breast cancer. I don't get why though. Why do these women think it will make them more successful? Why should women get naked to get attention?

It infuriates me that women are only acceptable when they are prepared to get naked. Because within the patriarchy, we are only bodies. Nothing else.

Remember when Gail Trimble from University Challenge was offered a naked spread in one of the "lads' mags"? It's as if she wasn't valid with her clothes on, despite her intelligence.
