Useful Statistics for AS Literature Class

Hello All,

I am teaching an AS Literature course and as part of that I want to introduce my students to the idea of feminist interpretations of Literature. Unfortunately, although my class were very interested in first and second wave feminists they seemed less than sure of the point of contemporary feminism. One girl stated 'it's just about petty things now'.

I began a discussion about body image, the media, the porn industry, a lack of women in powerful positions etc but I was hoping some of you here could provide me with some useful statistics, links to websites, that will make these points clear.

I know I have read many of these myself in various feminist writing, but annoyingly I'm struggling to locate them at the moment! Dr Google has been similarly frustrating. I will keep looking, and most likely find them, but if you could help in my search or offer any other useful ways into this teenage girl political apathy I would be very grateful.

TIA

Did you see this thread? It is the student loan calculation repayments which should interest an A level student.

Read some stuff out from the Beauty Myth- that's definitely still right. And Fire with Fire.

agree with Equality Illusion, also IIRC you can read the introduction using 'search inside' on Amazon.
