Joyland Fiction - 250 Books by Women All Men Should Read
(10 Posts)Thought this was worth posting, following the recent discussions about books by female authors, as an alternative list of female authors.

I've read them and they're all rubbish
No J.K. Rowling?

250?! Bloody hell!
Also is there no requirement for women to read them, or is this gargantuan task just for men?
You need to overcome the initial problem of getting men to read books at all.
Maybe you could have women reading the books aloud while men listen?
Very good, MisterDarsey

Joking apart, I agree it's a good idea for men to read books by & about women, and I despise the sexism of those who refuse to do so. But saying that 'all' men need to read all these 250 books is not exactly helpful.
Women's writing is very diverse and so are men's reading preferences, therefore matching the one to the other can only be done on a personal basis. For example I would probably like something set during World War 2. The Night Watch by Sarah Waters? The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons?
