From 5.30pm, women will gather outside Leeds Art Gallery and at 6.30pm women will begin to walk round Leeds City Centre; the last stage of the march will be open to all. Supporters are invited to meet the women marchers at the bottom end of Briggate (near Marks and Spencers for approx 7pm to continue the march round the city centre.

Can we bring our children? (mine is male, does that make a difference?) He is a baby so would be in a sling.

can anyone tell me how long the walk is from the railway station to the art gallery?

Report
ReclaimtheNightLeeds · 26/11/2010 15:07

5 mins, if that. Not very far at all. Just walk out of the main entrance to the station, round to the left, cross the road (with centenary square with an Xmas tree to your left) and then straight up the road ahead of you (Park Row), then left at the cross roads.

Looking forward to seeing you Mrs Clown Grin

How many people are you expecting roughly?

Well last year the BBC said we had 300. But really it's pretty difficult to predict. If it rains maybe it will just be the organisers Wink.

Do you think you'll make is SSM?

Have been given instructions on proper marching by 5yo DD:
'Remember Mummy, knees up high, swing your arms, and shout 'Slogans! Slogans!' as loud as you can.'

Have a great time, everyone! I'm too far away to join you but will be there with you in spirit. I loved taking part in the Bristol march in the spring.

That's great to hear 3LP as that was a tricky bit where we couldn't work out how to go where we wanted and use crossings. That was the inner loop we were walking by which is busy so we needed to work out how to get across safely without the route becoming tortuous. Glad it was actually a good thing to be in a U Grin

If anyone else has feedback, would be great to hear for next year. We can never achieve everything we'd like (well maybe one day when we have infinite money and people employed to work on it), but it's good to have different input.
