So I'll start

"I don't like to be too narrow..."

naming a feminist postition or idea (thats already been discussed) while claiming that feminists are against it.
e.g I was amazed so many ( so called ) intelligent women went along with it.
I didn't...
Feminism has a long way to go, and sometimes the glaringly obvious to me passes you by.

There is probably a better way of phrasing it, but that struck me as a proper moment.

What about the ones where they say 'you so-called feminists aren't the real feminists, I'm actually a better feminist than you because I earn a lot of money/have exercised my right to have plastic surgery/empower myself through pole dancing'?

"there is no pay gap, it's just that women choose to be paid less/be sacked while pregnant etc. Possibly because of cavemen"

"how can you accuse all men of DV/rape/leaving their socks on the floor?"

"more men that women are victims of DV"

"mining..."?

I am in suspense! Is it about the Chilean miners?

Report
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 23/11/2010 18:47

no, because most miners are men. So therefore the patriarchy doesn't exist.

sixpercenttruejedi · 23/11/2010 18:49

yeah, mining or dustbin collection, which suddenly become noble careers whenever feminism is mentioned, or someone dares suggest maybe nurses and those in caring roles should be paid more.

Report
plupervert · 23/11/2010 18:49

Do you mean because mining is dangerous, but is only open to men?

sethstarkaddersmum · 23/11/2010 18:51

ooh ooh ooh, I've thought of another one:
'Women have actually got more than equality, because they've got maternity leave.'

Report
sixpercenttruejedi · 23/11/2010 18:51

well, noble when pay is mentioned, or dangerous backbreaking work when it's stated that women do most of the crap jobs in society.

bleating
hysterical

(you score 5 extra points for any combination of 2 of the above and 20 for 'shrill hysterical bleating')

"Women get to use their sexuality to get what they want".

(I think this is anti-feminist because it corrodes trust in all women's sexuality)

Surely "Having It All" has to be in there? As in "Women have been conned by feminism into believing that they can Have It All."

"smacks of positive discrimination"

Also "statistics about women in boardrooms makes me nervous, they're open to interpretation. Because they don't take into account the fact that women choose to have children so obviously it hinders their careers".
