That's awful. Good for her for having the guts to take it all the way to the Supreme Court.

I've not read all the comments after the more info link but some make me awfully glad to be this side of the pond... some of the attitudes...

everything makes me sick right now, i need to do something frivolous for a while

thank god for cognitive dissonance

sometimes i think if i weren't able to block out how much the world hates women at least some of the time i don't know how i'd function

Sorry about second link, posted in a hurry and didn't check... was looking for more info because I couldn't actually believe it.

she was seriously expected to cheer someone accused and convicted of sexually assaulting her? That's really bad

ZZZenAgain Wed 10-Nov-10 20:07:10

Bad enough for the girl to have to face her rapists back at school as if nothing had happened

Agree with both your posts Chibi. It is terrifying, dizzyingly scary when you realise that no-one is going to protect you, because you are only a woman. That's what it comes down to

I can't believe someone accused of rape, can be allowed to plead "down" to plain old assault. That is outrageous. She has been let down by the lawyers/court as well as the school. Hope she has lovely friends and parents to help her get through this.
