Plastic free periods for New Year

Is anyone else thinking of swicthing to reusable period products? Just noticed Mooncup has a sale on their website. They don't discount often so it's a good deal!

A very good NY resolution! I tried Mooncup and didn’t personally get on with it but then switched to Flux period pants. Absolute life changers! Comfortable, easy to use, no mess at all. Will never go back to sanitary towels and tampons!

I did this a few years ago and switched to period pants. Never looked back! Wish they'd been around for the last 20 years.

The moon Cup is brutal. The saalt Cup and lena Cup are fab though.
Google the put a Cup in it quiz.

I think the pp means that some reusable pads and pants use PUL which is a laminated fabric so effectively does contain plastic. But its less problematic than single use plastic.

You can get fleece backed though windpro is the best but the most expensive. Totally worth it though.

I loved my mooncup but after three months I ended up with thrush even with washing and boiling it properly. Following for some hints and recommendations on reusable towels or pants though.

I use reuseable towels, I was having periods lasting 90 days at a time with only a few days break between so the irritation from disposables was becoming unbearable. I have cups but they make my cramps worse. I got mine on Amazon, I now have two sets. I love them, I have small ones for liners/light days that are just diamond shaped, longer ones that are more like a standard pad and then super wide at the back nightime ones which I live in on heavy days. I haven't had a leak since I got them. They do have a PUL layer so you shouldn't tumble dry them or over time the waterproofing will wear down. I rinse after use in cold water and store in a wet bag that came with the pads, then chuck them in a load on a standard wash, usually with a couple of towels I've used during my period as they sometimes get messy. No stains after several years of usage. I have a smaller bag I keep for when I'm out of the house, it's big enough for two and has two pockets so I can have a clean side and a dirty side but I rarely need to change when I'm out of the house.
