Faint positive now af

Faint bfp this morning, 2 hrs later full blown af. Got cramps as usual and they're fine but I've had what I can describe as ovulation pains.... since ovulation but today it's so bad on my right side that I've been curled up and felt nauseous. Had no dinner as not hungry.

I have PCOS so fearing it's a cyst.

Is it worth calling my gp in the morning or should I just bear the pain as nothing can be done for cysts..... that is if it is a cyst but not sure what else it could be. The pain is worse when I'm on my feet

Yes of course it's worth contacting the GP. In fact if the pain is really bad I'd be calling 111 now.

Could be an ectopic pregnancy, could be a cyst, could be a chemical pregnancy, nobody here knows and you need to be seen by a medical professional

@RizzleRazzle it's not bad enough for me to warrant calling nhs just now. If anything it's simmered down but earlier it was sharp pains then dull ache then sharp again.

I'm on full blown af - leaking through everything which I'm never this bad at! Did have spotting a few days ago and af was late by 2 days before she showed.

I think I'll call my gp in the morning but will probably be told nothing can be done yada yada

If it's making you nauseous and needing to lie down and has made you lose your appetite + you're bleeding more than you would on your period and leaking then it definitely needs checking out ASAP. Hope you get on okay with the GP tomorrow xx

@RizzleRazzle thanks. I'm hoping she's in tomorrow as she's part time. Watch this, I'll get a male gp and sent on my way! I am aware of the pain in my pelvis too - up towards my hip. So strange though!

OP I think you should get medical help tonight, call 111 by all means but I expect/hope they'll tell you go to A&E. An unusually heavy period at 4 weeks pregnant is actually bleeding in early pregnancy, that combined with pain which is bad enough to stop you eating makes me worried about ectopic pregnancy. You need to be seen tonight.
I'm a GP. I rarely post on medical threads --get enough of that at work! But I couldn't ignore your message.

@MeepleMe I was only 2 days late for af. I had spotting on Thursday and thought that was af starting. More spotting on Friday and nothing yesterday. Extremely faint line on a test strip today but af started less than 2 hrs later.

I did feel hot earlier when I nipped to Asda but now I'm ok. Had a wine as I know it's AF and in bed but I have this noticeable sensation on this right side. It's not painful now as it was earlier and I also have my usual AF cramps. Just my flow is heavier than normal...

Sorry to say I agree with @MeepleMe. I'm not medically trained in any capacity but the first symptom of my ectopic was pain in my pelvis that spread up to my hip. It stopped but thought I'd get it checked out, and am so glad I did. Hope you feel better soon.

@ReginaaPhalange I hope it's nothing, of course, and you end up safe and well if fed up from waiting about in A&E. But one sided pain in early pregnancy needs to be checked. Yes you might not be actually pregnant, might have been a chemical, but then again you might be, and neither of us know which it is without bloods and medical assessment. Ectopic pregnancy can become serious quickly. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

@MeepleMe if the pain gets worse during the night then yes i will seek medical advice there and then, but until then I'll definitely be speaking to the gp tomorrow.

I don't think it's an ectopic, I think more a cyst due to my PCOS but I could be totally wrong.

I will feedback tomorrow

How are you today? Have you spoken to your doctor?

It's not your period though if you had a positive pregnancy test. It could be an ectopic pregnancy, a chemical pregnancy or a cyst.

The pain settling doesn't mean everything is okay

@RizzleRazzle my usual gp isn't in today so waiting for one of the other clinicians to call me back.

I don't know if it was a vvvvvvvvvf line or an indent though that's the thing. The pic doesn't do it justice

So defo not pregnant, but the gp is sending me for an urgent scan. I think it's a cyst so we will see what happens.

@MeepleMe hey thanks for the message. It's still a bit tender now unfortunately but need to try get used to it as need to be in work!

She did say if anything changes then to call back and I'll be sent straight up to the hospital but obviously I'd be keen to avoid that if I can
