Boob on fire

Having issues with my right boob. Currently feels like it's on fire and just wondering if anyone else has had this and it's not turned out to be a serious problem?
I spoke to the GP yesterday and I will be seeing her on 22nd.
It's not hot to touch, doesn't look any different to normal. Just feels slightly tender to touch and going into the armpit. Feels more like a pulled muscle but I don't know how?
Currently got an issue with the shoulder same side and the nipple also feels on fire. But then it's not always there. I'm just trying not to over worry 😔

Are you breastfeeding or menopausal?

Neither. I'm 30 and no other issues.

Women who are not breastfeeding can still get mastitis...

@Poorlykitten sorry I didn't realise this! I've called the doctors again this morning and waiting for a call back.

Thank you! I saw the doctor. She also thinks mastitis. Shes given me antibiotics and some naproxen and I've got to go back in 4 weeks.

Should clear up in no time! Fingers crossed. Can make you feel really awful so I do sympathise.

Fellow non breast feeding mastitis sufferer here and I feel your pain (literally as I'm having a bout at the moment).

I hope the antibiotics give you some relief. A warm flannel on the boob can be a nice pain reliever as can a hot bath

I was slightly amazed she said it was that as to look or touch there appears to be absolutely nothing wrong. I'd have thought it involved the boob being hot and swollen and me having a temp but I feel completely fine other than the boob feels like it's on fire!

I took the 1st antibiotic at 3:30 after a sandwich and felt sick for a few hours after 😫

I took the 1st naproxen around 630 but made no difference as of yet.

I did have a hot bath and it relieved things temporarily. I've got a wheat bag so I'm going to warm that up and hope it keeps the burning at bay.

@Madvixen sorry to hear this is something you're experiencing regularly 😔

I've had a recurring abscess for a year .... not mastitis and have been seeing a consultant and getting it drained. Unfortunately moved overseas for work so couldn't get treatment and now I've one back to the UK and moved to a different part of the country so need to try and get referred elsewhere.
Hopefully your antibiotics will work but keep an eye on it and if it gets any worse get back to the dr and ask for a referral you do not want to go through the crap I have to put up with.
