I had a baby 11 months ago and so far had 3 periods short but very heavy. The 4th has been really long and very light about 5/6 days of red/ brown blood and dark brown spotting / discharge and sometimes only when wipe either side for so far its 2 weeks. I went to the doctors yesterday and she is sending me to the hospital I’m freaking out. She said gynaecology then said colposcopy clinic. My smear was in January and was clear. Now I’m freaking out it’s something really bad .

Sorry bet you think I’m crazy. I suffer from health anxiety so that’s not helping. Apologies. Today woke up and it’s heavy bleeding like a period. So not sure now. Maybe the past couple of weeks wasn’t a period as their was no pain and heavy bright red bleed. Just mostly brown. unless the doctor has caused it when she examined me on Friday.
Sorry again for posting.

Spotting is usually caused by hormonal imbalance. Doctors do have to cross everything on the list before saying it's okay and not to worry. So please do not worry unnecessarily. It could be fibroids, cyst, polyps , low progesterone , or just perimenopause if you are in the right age bracket. All are normally benign conditions and can be taken care by medication or simple procedures.

Thanks that helps. Just looked at my patient records from the doctors - probably not the best thing to do with health anxiety!! It said cervix red and inflamed. Also mild prolapse referral gyne
