Did your c section or pregnancy muck up your organs/rib cage/stomach?

I'm two years post emergency section and having all kinds of trouble with sore sternum and ribs, hideously tight muscles in my neck (thanks breastfeeding/toddler carrying) and a tight throat with globus. I'm being investigated for reflux and/or hernia. Such a lot of me hurts that it could be anything. full blood count at docs was ok. I've never suffered from pain before I had this section, it all seems to have gone downhill since then. It got me wondering if it (or the pregnancy itself I guess) might be to blame for all/any of this. Keen to hear if this sounds familiar to anybody at all and hoping it does.

After my c section I started suffering from chronic constipation. I never had any episode of constipation for a single day in my life. Then I started to suffer with slow transit of food, then IBS like symptoms and finally reflux. Went to many doctors and was advised to change my diet but nothing helped. Dr advised to increase fibre buy made me worst. I became intolerant to many foods. I was told I had IBS and I need to live with it.
Fortunately for me I had an ovarian cyst for which I was offered surgery. While operating my surgeon saw my omentum adhesions (caused by c section ) and divided them. After 14 years of suffering I am back to my old self. I am relieved to have found a solution of my agony for so many years but it's like so many good years had been wasted and I so wish I was treated before.

I had pretty much exactly the same as literallyfedup. Terrible pain and constipation and have been diagnosed with IBS and told to avoid certain foods. I’ve always been sure that something was moved during c section to cause the issues but after reading that about omentum adhesions I’m going to look it up.

Yes! Apart from awful acid reflux, nothing diagnosed. I had a really tight throat which was investigated, but never really came to a conclusion, after a while (months) it eventually went. I still have really bad reflux and my ribs I feel are still out of place. Pilates has really helped with the ribs.

Thank you so much for your replies, they have made me feel less crazy. What you say in particular @saggybaps sounds just like me. IBS has been mentioned by the doctor as a possible 'thing' explaining my discomfort too but I know it's not that. They're sending me for an ultrasound to check my abdominal wall.

Googling this only brings up stuff relating to the section scar or immediately after the section. So you have no idea what a relief it is to hear that other women notice issues further up. I'd heard about adhesions but not omentum ones so will look those up. Thank you Thanks
