Dealing with vaginal discharge - apols if TMI

Are there any ways of dealing with discharge besides liners which I prefer to avoid given already spend one week a month using pads for obvious reasons.

Have tried cup before but puts pressure on bladder so I can't use that.

I know it's natural and whatnot but it's annoying and just feels a bit unpleasant.

Does anyone have any other methods of dealing with it I've not thought of? I'm aware of sponges but have heard that they can be 'impure' and thus risky for internal insertion.

Period pants? Washable and less irritating than liners. Expensive though!

If it bothers you just change your pants a few times a day 🤷🏻‍♀️

FWIW I never use liners and only use cup for my period. I use period pants for running just in case but other than that just change my underwear if I feel I need to.

I have just switched to light modibody pants to help with my discharge and they are awesome. Not cheap but worth it. I started with two pairs to see how I got on and have just increased my stash to 5. Always used pantyliners before.

Really, don't be putting anything inside- it's coming out for a reason.
Is it the environmental impact of liners you're worried about? What about the fleece pads? "Fairy hammock" types I mean...

Reusable liners are more environmentally friendly and not treated with chemicals. Discharge will happen and can't be stopped or blocked. An increase is worth mentioning to your gp if that is a concern

No, it's always been like that as far as I recall. I think maybe it's just a bit worse than average as I use the pill just to keep things in control and obviously that plays with your hormone levels a little.

I'm sure this will sound a little but I like to be able to wear matching underwear sets eg Boux Avenue's pretty Chloe range but with it being all lacy and whatnot, there's not a lot of material there so it can be an issue.

So glad this is anonymous but hopefully someone has experienced this issue too hahaha.

So wearing period pants or similar would kind of defeat the point and make me feel even less feminine.

Lots of people have discharge, it's perfectly normal..
Perhaps buy two pairs of matching knickers for each bra? Then change at midday?

Something called labial pads or interlabial pads might do. They're washable tiny pads that just fit in between outer labia. They can be worn in different ways.

idlevice I think I love you! Just looked up these pads and they solve "channelling" which is a problem I've had my whole life with both periods and heavy discharge in the week before I come on. Thought I was a freak and hated feeling so uncomfortable for half my menstrual cycle. Off to buy some of these.

There are liners that are barely there - I use them every day and wish I had thought of it decades ago - would have saved some embarrassing moments!

I get amazing discharge around ovulation, like thick, glistening jelly! I sewed some really lovely reusable pads / liners out of pretty cotton and silk fabric; they're light weight, very absorbent and tailored to my 'shape'. I just watched a couple of YouTube tutorials to get a general idea, and then personalised: cute cotton / silk upper fabric, old cotton t-shirt fabric for inner layers, and a micro-fleece base layer which acts a bit like velcro, keeping the liner in place and is also a bit water resistance, preventing moisture wicking through onto your knickers. I made them wider at the front and tapered toward the back, basically fitting the gusset of my pants. Super easy to wear, wash, dry on repeat with very little impact on the environment.
