Yasmin contraceptive pill after c-section

Has anyone started the combined oral contraceptive pill after a c-section? If so how long did you leave it post partum? GP advised leaving it 6 weeks and it's been almost 8 weeks now. I have the pills but haven't taken them as I'm still a bit concerned about blood clots as the pill I usually take (Yasmin) is associated with a higher risk of clots that some others. I know pregnancy and surgery can increase the risk of a clot further. How long did others leave it? For various reasons I don’t want to take progesterone only pills as Yasmin helps me with other health issues too.

Are you breastfeeding? If so, it can affect milk supply. if not, then it should be ok to take
