Thrush/sti symptoms HELP Really bad

Hi there, a week ago today (Tuesday) it started to become really sore when I was peeing so thought it was just a urine infection. When I woke up Wednesday morning, I was really sore down there to the point I struggled to sit down properly and walk about. I was off work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday because I couldn’t deal with the pain. Thursday I went to the doctors and they thought it might be thrush so I got prescribed a cream which didn’t seem to be helping. At this point it was way too sore when I was peeing to the point I stopped myself and just held it in! I went to chemist on Thursday to get an oral tablet to take cause I couldn’t take the pain anymore! On Friday I woke up feeling the same, phoned the doctor and got prescribed another cream and pessary. I took the pessary Friday night, woke up Saturday and everything was still the same. I’ve now got some red very painful spots on the flaps and a couple around that area. I’ve been crying in pain with it, it‘s awful not being able to stand up properly, sleep properly, walk about properly, walking with a limp at times cause it’s that sore. I got checked at the doctors yesterday and they’ve swabbed me for checking any other infections. However, I’m away in 3 days for the weekend with my boyfriend and would like to go feeling comfortable and not this sore, I would also like to be able to shave down there as well! Can someone please help and tell me anything to calm down these spots/sores around the area so that I can enjoy my weekend away and not be in agony every time I move, anything would be much appreciated

I'd be postponing the weekend if I were you. All you can do is wait for swab results and see what correct treatment you need. I assume your gp tested a urine sample for uti on your first visit?

We have had it planned for ages I’ve said I’m still going to go if I’m still this sore just need something relieve it a bit, we have tried to see if we can move it to any time soon but we can’t unfortunately. And yes sorry forgot to mention, urine test came back clear

Could it be herpes?

Thrush has always been pretty responsive to treatments in my own experiences. Even if it doesn't totally get rid of it straight away the treatments usually ease it a lot.

I feel like it is a wee bit better than it was, the discharge isn’t nearly as bad as well. It’s just the spots/sores that are really bothering me now and sorry for tmi but I shaved down there about two weeks ago so it’s all now prickly growing in, I feel like this might be a factor of it being really sore and uncomfortable when walking or doing anything from the spikey hairs? Could this be right does anyone think?

Sounds like herpes. I think maybe a trip to a GUM clinic would be your best bet. Check out you local one for the walk in times this week.

It does sound like herpes. Vagisil medicated cream is a wonder for this. It stings like buggery when you put it on, but numbs the area so you’re comfortable.

And if it is then no sex with boyfriend for the minute.

I was checked yesterday by a doctor and he didn’t mention this, he said it could be Folliculitis? And told me to keep using the cream that I was using for thrush

Aghhhh I feel your pain, nothing worse.... it Sounds abit more serious than thrush or a uti to me aswell but for the time being,
maybe a cold compress to help with the pain or a very warm one to help with the ingrown hairs? Is it too painful to trim (not shave) ? Maybe pluck any ingrown ones? (Gulping on your behalf) 💐 ☹️

The usual paracetamol / ibuprofen combo should bring some relief as well and what helps me is a touch of the normal, unscented Vaseline, after a warm bath and loose, cotton knickers 🙂 xX

Have you got the canesten cream you could slather on ? Or maybe try an OTC BV treatment ? 🍷

This is why you need a GUM clinic. This is their area. They know all about fannies and knobs

I have no idea why people fanny on with GPs when there's a specific place for this stuff.

Sorry, just saw that you have 🙂🙂

Not tried to shave or trim yet, going to wait till Friday and see if there’s any improvement down there! I definitely think there’s some hairs that are causing irritation

Fucking hell.

If a bloke come on with that post and more or less said he was going to ignore it because he was going away for the weekend with his girlfriend. He would be hung drawn and quartered for it.

No words man Grin

Not ignored it, waiting on swab tests to come back which should be before the weekend. Already said there wouldn’t be any sexual activity going on, just more looking for how the pain can be a bit more relieved 😆

Really glad to hear that man. I hope you feel better soon. I'd definitely try that stuff mentioned above to numb it a bit. Good luck.

Sorry does anyone know if the cream I’ve got for thrush would mix in badly with the vagisil cream? Don’t want to make things worse down there

I've used both simultaneously but I'm NOT a doctor xx

Did you feel like it worked and didn’t make anything worse?

I’ve used both before - vagisil first to numb and then slather on the canesten. Didn’t make it worse at all, was a massive relief!

Sound slike herpes. First time I had my outbreak was horrific. Same symptoms. Dr treated me for a urine infection but boy was he wrong. First one is always the worst, try asking the dr for some numbing gel, buy some zovirax then get down to the gum clinic.

Hopefully find out in a couple of days from my swab test results! How long did it take to go away? I’ve had this for about a week now but each morning waking up it’s getting slightly better
