Just that .... laying in bed reading emails , felt a pins and needles like feeling then noticed I was wet ... I’d wet the bed.
Never happened before .
Late 30s dc4 what’s just happened?
Anyone ever had this problem? Tia

I wouldn't mess around OP there is a condition called cauda equina which can lead to being paralysed, I would go and get that ruled out without delay

I haven’t done them in a while .
My back , legs etc are fine . I didn’t black out or anything.
Don’t have a weak bladder .
It’s just like ... what just happened ,
Haven’t had a drink ( alcohol ) either . So shocked .

The pins and needles is often associated with nerve issues- trapped or damaged. So do what Chilled advised and quickly. Loss of bladder or bowel control should always be investigated.

Call 111 and ask about cauda equina, get yourself to a & e, I believe time is of the essence. I read about this from another mumsnet poster, wet herself but was too busy with a busy life to ask about it and is now paralysed. No fun. I think the paralysis can be prevented if you seek help fast.

If it turns out to be something else, no worries, but don't take the risk.

Yes I would call 111. Sudden loss of control of a bodily function like that needs to be investigated quickly I would think. Hope you are OK, OP Thanks

Call 111 cauda equina was the first thing that came to mind

If you was just laying in bed and not busting for the loo I'd definitely call 111. Especially with sudden pins and needles. It does make is sound nerve related

Hopefully nothing but I also say needs a&e for possible cauda equina - so important to rule out (doctor). Fingers crossed

I would call 111 and go to A&E if they advise.

Good luck OP

I wouldn't call 111, I'd go straight to A&E.

This is one of those occasions where you should get straight to hospital.
All the best op

Hopefully it's just a one off weird laying on nevre weirdly plusinfection type things. But glad your getting checked out OP.

I once really weirdly lost bowel control for no reason at all. Not sure how old my boy was. No pain and didnt feel ill. No warning. Went out as soon as cleaned up and felt fine all day after. I just guessed my body didnt like something or had a blip. Hopefully like me is was a random.one off

I had this once when I was 17. Just sitting revising, felt pins & needles and whoosh! 30 years on & it's never happened since but every time I'm in a conference room I worry it might happen and I'll have to waffle out!
I know it won't and I'm sure it was just sitting for too long in one position but I just wanted to offer a bit of comfort to say that it could have been just a body blip like mine was.
